Does it matter though? This isn't exactly like benching Flutie for Johnson. Tyrod was mediocre as hell, and Peterman turned out to be worse (although he had some bad luck in that game).
I'd be more concerned if they had full faith in Tyrod to lead them to a championship |

the pegulas get away with so much being in a small market
someone rubs them the wrong way, poof they are gone
they are way more hands on then an owner should be regarding rosters and a reason why we have not won a playoff game since they purchased either team
they make washington Dan look like a normal owner

Perk of spending $1.5 billion to purchase two sports franchises.
As to your second point, they've accomplished more in 3 years with the Bills than Ralph did in the last 20 of his ownership (RIP).
Darcy convinced them to tank. Still the right call. |

I'd pick Ty Dellandrea at 32. If he was there. I'd also look at Martin Kaut, Dominik Bokk and Xavier Bernard. - TheSabresTaco
Backreading paid off, because I got to see another fan of Dellandrea. I'd love him at 32. Really like what I've read on Bokk too. |

Yeah probably sit down this weekend and start hitting the net hard. Is it truly shot gun approach (keep firing until you hit something) or do you have a favorite site? - RhinoFan
I use a few. The Hockey Writers is a solid place to get a good outline of at least the top 50 guys, maybe 75.
Last Word on Hockey is also high quality. The Draft Analyst and Dobber is also worth a look. |

They didn't lose their jobs though, they accepted buyouts. Sullivan couldn't stand to lose his column. They 100% brought this upon themselves by being smartasses and pissing off fans and they had poor relationships with ownership.
Sully should try to get a job in a basketball town.
I agree about Vogl. He did a nice job - jcragcrumple
potato potahto. The News stopped publishing Jerry's columns. And they either get voluntary or mandatory buyouts. So choose now or force someone later. |

Dude trust me they did not get involved this time the only time was with Anthony Lynn and they stopped getting involved with the QB after that
The offensive coordinator had trouble withTaylor and both him and McDermitt agreed to bench him because they thought peterman was an upgrade
So no it was not the owner - gerbe75pts
not the way it was reported.
Dennison through a hissy fit and threatened to quit if McDermott didn't bench Tyrod because he wouldn't/couldn't throw the ball down field...McDermott yielded but ultimately held Dennison accountable (weird, there is that word) |

Dellandrea reminds me of an aged Mikko Koivu. Love his play style and his full speed ahead leadership and skillset.
Bokk is a wonderful player that still needs size and 200' development. |

The worst thing about this is them taking their buyouts has saved Harrington's job for now.
I get Sully rubs people the wrong way but he wasn't the worst. There were a lot of Jerry's articles and columns I disliked a lot but there were also a lot of really good ones that I enjoyed.
Harrington on the other hand is the worst and yet he still has his job. |

Like I said, no sympathy for those two from me. They reaped what they sowed. Sully even admitted that the news thought he was bad for business. How many times are you gonna insult the fans before you realize that they're the ones buying your product?
I'm not saying they should be like the Winnipeg media that fawns over the organization, but those two constantly stooped to the lowest level to personally insult the Pegulas.
Good riddance. To quote Steve Martin in planes, trains and automobiles, "you finally did it to yourself" |

I think there's absolutely top line wingers available after round one. Of course, the three caveats are years away from the NHL, size, and lack of a 200' game. Others could be attitude, such as lack of hunger, disinterest, not being captain material, being a me guy etc., or even just being Russian. Sabres need a better Russian scout. Apparently we'eve got a great European scout in Teemu Numminen.
We don't even have a Russian scout. - TheSabresTaco
Looking at previous drafts though the amount of top line wingers past the first round are few and far between. Maybe a couple come out of that round, but wouldn't a 2nd or 3rd line winger be about as good as you can hope for on average?
I'm just thinking that with Nylander, Pu, Baptiste, Bailey and Malone we have some bottom 6 depth on the way at least. If that is the case, then I'd rather shoot for a defender who can be a 2nd or 3rd pairing guy for us in a few years when the cap situation gets tight. If there is a top line talent available (Jack's winger) then I'm completely wrong, but figured that wasn't feasible in the 2nd round. |

What's appealing about TD is that he put up points stuck on a crummy team. Hopefully that leads him to being overlooked and falling to 32. I fully expect the sabres' 2nd player picked to be a very good player and key to restocking the system. |

Been reading a lot on Dobber recently, even just the adv stats can be fun...if used correctly haha. Thanks for this, Last Word I've seen a couple things I believe, but never really looked into it.
I remember buying the Hockey Writers mags every year at Borders. Good times. |

What are we arguing? They've made the playoffs 2 years out of a combined 9 or something. Its not been great. Meddling has nothing to do with why the Sabres are bad. - jcragcrumple
yeah right
but peggy is wanting to sign JT for 12 mil per
