Disgraceful, really, just disgraceful they only have six picks right now. He always backs himself into a corner and either gets taken advantage of of other GM won't help him out because they know he's desperate.

It is pretty bad that over the course of 5 drafts we have less picks then the allotted amount that every team automatically gets given.

Augello just wrote this the other day about 32 year old Tyler Bozak:

After a career-high 55 points in 2017, Bozak fell back slightly with 43 points last season, but remained a key cog in the Leafs first PP unit with Nazem Kadri, James van Riemsdyk, Mitch Marner and Morgan Rielly.

The 32-year-old is still good on face-offs and adept at scoring in shootouts, but his success at even strength was mostly tied to linemate van Riemsdyk and mitigated by his declining speed and defensive ability.

he's a pretty meh player, plenty of ufa's like that every year. doesn't move the needle at all for this team.

12 points in 52 games

He overachieved with the Sedins the year prior, I just dont see him making this team next year.

Does anyone have a link to when Edler said that if the Canucks approached him to waive he would consider it as he doesn't want to play for a team that does not want him on it?
- Retinalz

He said that before this season started but then Benning told him he wants him to stick around to be part of this growth spurt

he might have a year or two left in him.

he's a smart offensive player, gets to good spots on the ice and can make a good pass.

but he's got a pop gun shot and is soft defensively.

overall, his greatest attribute is the ability to ride the coat tails of better wingers....

if his speed is already declining then I have no interest, especially since he sucks defensively too.

Last thing this team needs is another old tweener who's not fast or big and needs easy minutes to play well. If he'll sign for 1-2 years then sure, but I bet he gets 3 years from some desperate GM in this weak UFA market

Imagine signing Bozak and Benning brings up his ability in the Faceoff circle.

Hello... we have Manny Malhotra on our staff who turned a career 47% in Brandon sutter in a guy over 50%. He can make anyone a good FO man.

we dont ever need to be signing a center for his faceoff ability with Horvat and Sutter already on the roster.

Interesting...hadn't heard that. How does he know the team doesn't want him?

This to me would have more to do with the Sedins retiring and Edler seeing the changes coming...

- LordHumungous

I never said the team doesn't want him. It was a quote he said when someone was asking about waiving his NTC and IF the team asked him what he would do.
