Don’t see what Carolina gains from trading him for OJ lol - Nucker101
Probably want the 7 to draft a fwd |
|
|
|
They would just bridge him then until some contracts clear up(Williams, etc) instead of making that trade - Nucker101
Maybe they are not that high on him and trading him when value is high |

Juolevi was just confirmed to not be the video game addict.

He’s our Hamonic, except he only plays 50 games - Nucker101
I remember after Hamilton’s first year in cgy ....everyone was dogging him ...I’ll give harmonic this year before I compare him to EG ....but after this year he might be dead to me lol |

Right handed elite defenceman are the rarest commodity in the league.
And like I said, the makeup with this team with a core of Boeser, EP, and Horvat cries out for having a high end righty more than a high end lefty. - Lindenis#1
top2 dmen men are a commodity, we need every position and we need depth. If we could land him for a few pieces, I'd pull the trigger. I'd prefer it to not be #7. Granlund, Dipietro and our second maybe. |

I was listening to Craig Buttons today he had a very good take on Hanifin. His first comment was Hanifin will top out as a number 4 D not a 3 or higher. He said Bouchard Dobson and Hughes all have a higher ceiling.
He said the reason Carolina want to trade him is because they also know he is a number 4 D.
Be careful what you wish for. - VANTEL
His stats sure aren't trending like a #4 DMAN. See where it goes I guess. |

Again, not sure why Carolina would do this. If I was a Canes fan(lol), I’d be pissed if they made that deal
It sounds like Carolina wants #7 + good for Hanifin, I’d pass on that and just stay patient |

we have 2 right shot prospects in our entire system
Brassard and Chatfield and both are long long shots of ever making the NHL |

Fair. I'm not going to be disappointed if they don't, but the package I just mentioned had a solid looking G prospect, top9 forward and 37th pick overall. It's not the worst package. I'm guessing if the deal gets done Carolina gets quite a bit back, so I guess in that sense you are right |

Gotta think someone else can beat that offer ....or at the very least the canes would keep him for that price |

Unless you're getting some insane discount on Hanifin, the collective assets you would surrender would just take away too much from a resource pool that this team barely has.
I don't know how much it says that the "deepest prospect pool in franchsie history" is like 4 legit prospects, 6 coinflips to have a career and a bunch of scratch tickets.
Yet, apparently that is deep enough to start selling in trades for a team that has no future defence and no future centers. |

If that was the offer then there are probably 20 teams topping you. Granlund, Dipietro and a 2nd wouldn't get you UFA to be Faulk, let alone a young RFA who's shown a wildly inconsistent defensive game with an ability to score some points. Plus that RFA has top5 draft pedigree which teams will splooge forever over until he's 32 despite performance. |

The irony is we traded MacCann for the 3 rd over all 24 year old 24 months ago and called is an enormous mistake and now we want to do it again for a higher pick. What about this draft and develop? - VANTEL
Exactly. If he was the kind of defenceman the Cancucks need he wouldn’t be on the trade block.
We have a deeper prospect pool then we’ve had in a long time, but no where near deep enough to start moving assets for a player that hopefully continues to develop. |

1 top 4 D, 3 scratch tickets on d
1 project starter, 1 1b project goaltender
1 blue chip forward, 3 middle 6 guys, a handful scratch ticket Fs
And its like people are acting like this is good because not a single one of these players is going to bust or suffer setbacks. And the pro team is overflowing with forward depth because Leipsic exists and Motte might learn to skate. |

You honestly think Gudbranson, who rates very very near the bottom in every single defensive metric has been a better Defenseman? He's been awful. Biega may not be good enough to merit being on the team for 82 games but i'd take his effort level any day over the horrible hockey Guddy has played in Van.
Trade value is a different argument. GMs take draft position and size into account for that. In terms of who has been better on the ice it's no contest - NorthNuck

Yes I honestly believe that. I think biega is arguably the worst defensman in the NHL. He is a train wreck. I like that he works hard but to say he is better the EG is laughable. He hasn’t lived up to expectations but he is still a number 5. Biega has no business playing in the NHL - CanuckDon

well if i know one thing, its that you don't exercise leverage to win a trade ever. you just cave and overpay the team in a bind |
