I'm pretty tired of hearing about Craig Button. Go look at his draft record as GM of Calgary. He's irrelevant.
It's not according to me he was the best d in the draft, it was according to the entire professional scouting community who I tend to respect and listen to more than one of the worst drafting GM's in history and newspaper journalists. - neem55
lol he was largely responsible for putting together that Flames club that went to the final in 2004. Pretty sure he ain't that dumb brah... |

Shot 69 today with a double, won $75 dollars, today was a good day. - LeftCoaster
Wow good for you. My goal is to break 75 this year. I had it in the bag last round of last season and bogeyed 17 and 18 for a 77
I can feel that 75 coming this year. |

This boqvist Karlsson comparison needs to stop. They both had poor numbers. So Boq will also exceed expectations and be similar to Karlsson? It literally makes zero sense. Why not pick somebody with better numbers than Karlsson? There are plenty D with better numbers this draft. Why do you keep comparing these two players? I know you will say scouts know more than me and they told you so. Anyways, hope everyone is having a great night! - CanuckDon

I don't mind Button, but it drives me nuts how to him every prospect is directly comparable to a HOFer.

He is enthusiastic about prospects! I like it! He needs ratings so best to not take him to seriously |

He really wasn't. Who was the best player he brought in? Also, I was talking about his awful drafting. Which cannot be defended as he didn't draft more than one guy that played 100 games in three drafts. |

I get that, but it bothers me when he talks about some guy who is Yannick Weber but hypes him to be Duncan Keith and then everyone is like "WELL HE SAID HE'S THE NEXT KEITH AND HE'S ON TSN AND HE USED TO BE A TERRIBLE GM SO WHAT DO YOU KNOW?" |

He had nothing to do with kipper iggy or regehr ....he acquired lots of pieces but didn’t draft them ...he’s an idiot |

If had better foot speed, a harder and more accurate shot, better vision , more size , better conditioning and was much younger I’m basically Connor mcdavid |

its like the people who want to give Nonis credit for the 2011 team or Murray credit for what Burke did in Anaheim.
Yes they were there before and had some imprint on the team, but they werne't the one with the balls or ability to get it over the top and take it to the next level. It isn't exactly Bowman taking over the 2010(?) Hawks team. |

He is still way better than Pronman imo...not that that’s saying much |

I’ll give credit if a guy adds the main pieces or makes a few moves to put the team over the top....but that run was mainly iggy and kipper ....I don’t even know if button drafted one player on that team lol

If these guys were any good at projecting prospects wouldn’t they be employed by nhl teams and have 5 cups each by now ? Lol |

I’m not a huge fan of Button or Pronmsn but it depends on career choice. I’ve heard Ferraro has been offered at least one scouting job but chose not to accept it. |

He'd need to be in charge or in a place where the guy in charge shares a wavelength with him. I can see him being too abrasive for a lot of the Old Boys Club |

Really?! I don't see that kind of ego there, I think that's why I like him so much. |

I wouldn't call it ego. But I can see similar thing with Gilman where when they let him go they were like "blah blah too many voices in decisions" or whatever. They used the business speak for "he didn't agree with our super smart decision making so we fired him" |
