I am feeling generous. Nylander for Nylander trade with Buffalo throwing in the first round pick. - polcat27
You have to add a prospect, let's say Matthews.

He worked his ass off in the summer and bulked up to only get injured and lose all the muscle he gained and struggle all year
If he did not get injured who knows what kind of season he could of had |

Kovalchuk's Watch
As TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported earlier this week, Ilya Kovalchuk's new agent JP Barry has opened discussions with teams for his client's return to the NHL.
Matt Larkin of The Hockey News lists the New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins as the top five candidates to land Kovalchuk this off-season

Interesting, found this when hunting around on the inter-webs
According to Forbes in 2017, the Sabres...
Valued at $350M
- annual growth of 17%
Annual Revenue of $120M
Operating Income of - $13M (loss)
Pegula bought the team in Feb 2011 for $189M
Over those 7 years, if they lost $13M per year (probably less), then that would be a loss of $91M ... but a growth in the franchise value of $161M ... netting to a total profit of $70M or about $10M annually.
Not too bad.
EDIT: adjusted growth to 17% (incorrectly quoted 23% earlier) |

Golisano paid roughly $92m in 2003, sold it for $189M in 2011 ... so in 8 years he grossed $97M ... not sure of Operating Losses during that 8 year period that reduce that gross profit down to what he netted.

I remember during the "video scouting" era, he managed to eke out a small profit for a few years |

Further research shows the value of the Sabres in 2011 was estimated to be $173M ... so yes, he paid a premium of $16M if those valuations are correct. |

Ya, the big hang up with Tommy boy was he had a mandate not to lose money...so we can assume roughly right it was a small profit or loss each year.
Tommy boy did alright. |

Does that operating income loss of $13m include TV money and merch? |

If his career path takes same as his brother this year he will become a regular for the Sabres out of training camp or by December latest. William spent majority of his first two years in North America in the AHL. |

It was just interviewing I was just chilling in the players lounge and talking to some people in the suits and the Lexus club meting some players asking them stuff besides hockey they absolutely hate when you bring up hockey during a chill time lol
Nothing really ground breaking lol

He also played professionally in Sweden for a few years before hand. Thing is though, William produced at over a PPG pace for the Marlies. Alex produces one shot in two playoff games and sits the entire third period. |

They didn’t detail it out...not sure how Pegula’s capture that...but I think the NHL includes that when reporting their revenues for Cap cap purposes...so I would guess yes. |
