Except for the salad and the grilled vegetables.

Make or break year for Nylander. I'm still hopeful and thought I saw more during his callup. Put him on Jack's wing for preseason and let's see if the kid has that extra gear he hasn't shown yet. Talent isn't the issue.

You would be surprised the salad dressing is key lol I’ve seen the the scouts try to be healthy and then they dump loads of the dressing lol

All this Nylander analysis kinda blows my mind. Everyone acts like he's absolute trash and are talking about giving up on him...and make-or-break season?! Seriously! He's 20! He'll be 20 for 95% of next season too. I can guarantee you that there are countless examples of top 10 picks that haven't lit the world on fire prior to the age of 21. You need to look at each players individual situation before tossing him aside. Kid spends one year in the OHL...has a great rookie season...gets drafted quite high (8th overall)...gets (probably wrongly) thrown into the AHL...struggles (understandably) against men...works his butt off in the off-season and is seemingly ready to go...gets injured...comes back and is behind the 8-ball...gets tossed around in the bottom half of the lineup because things are clicking on the top lines...struggles (again...understandable given his age, personal expectations, having yet played this season)...starts to heat up late...actually looked quite impressive (I thought he looked better than Mittelstadt during his mini-call-up) to end the season. Let's just all relax on the kid. Give him some time to figure things out because his skill-set is still off the charts in terms of offense. Great passer, great skater, great shot. You don't wanna be like the Oilers (Hall) and trade him away for pennies on the dollar.

Irish people try...

It's worth the youtube search. They love our food, hate our alcohol and our President. That's all I gathered, but a good time nonetheless.

Apart from his deflection for the goal I didn’t need even know he existed. Mitts had 5 points in 6 games after playing college hockey and sitting out for nearly a month. It might be too early to give up on him but he’s been an absolute joke the last two years.

I disagree right at 2. It would either be matthews or dahlin at 2.

1) McDavid
2) Matthews
3) Dahlin
4) Eichel
5) Laine

He's had some excuse years. I'm willing to give him that. I thought I saw a lot more than last year from him both in the AHL and in his callup. Still, this is a make or break year for him...he will be buying his own sizzurp this time next year, so he isn't a kid any more. If he really dedicated his summer to getting stronger, he needs to do it again. If he's playing 3rd-4th line in the AHL at the end of this season, we can be pretty well assured he isn't going to be what we drafted him for.

No reason for him to be considered a bust yet, but no reason to think that it's all good in the hood either.

I know someone there who's involved with the performance testing for the prospects. I told her to look out for a douchebag in a day-glo polo shirt and white shorts.

He’s our boy and all but based on production at this point I would have to put Laine ahead of Eichel. Switch 4 and 5. Sorry but it is what it is. Also, I might put Dahlin ahead of Matthews as well even though he hasn’t even played a game in the nhl yet. His ceiling just seems ridiculous.

Golisano paid roughly $92m in 2003, sold it for $189M in 2011 ... so in 8 years he grossed $97M ... not sure of Operating Losses during that 8 year period that reduce that gross profit down to what he netted.
- IonSabres

They were large, plus capital improvements. Not as much as Pegula has done, but that also needs to be factored in somewhat. Because you're never going to get that money back out.

I remember during the "video scouting" era, he managed to eke out a small profit for a few years
- jcragcrumple

You can also defer losses. I'm not an accountant, so I'm not totally sure that's a thing for physical property/operational expenses. I've heard it more for market positions. Fancy accounting to take advantage of loopholes.

You act like they're coming from behind the Iron Curtain, or some other third world country. They're probably just surprised they didn't dig up fermented fish from out back than anything else.

Its not based on production. Its based on scouting and production preNHL.

No way Laine would have gone 2 with that being the criteria Pronman used. Based on NHL production, Laine deserves the 2nd spot though.

You make a lot of good points, seriously.
However, one fact remains the same...the scouting reports 3 years ago were exactly what he shows now ...
-perimeter player, doesn’t go to where 85% of the goals are scored.
-disappears for long stretches of play...shifts and games
-seems disinterested for much of the game
-sick skills

So, while Development May, just May help him change his game ... the trend is showing that it is becoming less realistic.
He might figure it out too late...teams do have limited number of contracts to mange to...as more prospects show up and compete to play a North American game ... the promises becomes just that...a broken primse.

Plain and simple, he needs to show it this year that “he is getting it”.
