What was Mitts? He actually had Mitts number #1 on his mid term rankings for the 2017 draft. - Fattony1187
Mittelstadt didn't crack the list. However Cody Glass did |

Nylander is defintely heading towards Girgorenko status thats forsure. If he turns it around I'll be thrilled but he has to change his work ethic. But then again the Kostitsyn brothers had the same issue. Uber talented but lazy and soft. |

Time will tell. How come Nylander is going to be a stud yet Risto has put up three 40+ point seasons by the age of 23 on the lowest scoring teams in the league yet is overrated and should be moved ? |

Nylander was clearly a tit for tat pick, Toronto got the better nylander and gmtm went for the mic drop moment by selecting alex. Didn't quite pan out |

This whole thing has been handled very strangely - jcragcrumple
bills absorb entire cap hit this year by doing it, no cap issues from wood carries into 2019 by doing it |

Why not cut him before the press conference then, or why the awkward drama at the event? |

Ristolainen went from a franchise defense to he needs to be on 2nd pair to be successful
I can’t count how many times he couldn’t cover a guy in front of the net to tie up there stick
Or get beat 1v1
That’s great that he’s physical but sometimes he Does the dumbest things and the puck ends up in the back of the net ..
And then rumors he doesn’t listen to coaches he does his own thing

I don’t think anybody see him out scoring Golden State he would literally have to get 60 points a game imo
Maybe his bum team finally shows up |

"Due to salary cap ramifications, Eric will remain on the roster until June first and then we need to release him for salary cap resolution and at which point he can retire as an honored Buffalo Bill."
It was real easy to say, now that we know the issue, no clue why they didn't do it.
Maybe Kim was out of town and could not guide them through it. |

Risto will be fine when playing a proper role and not being something he is not. I think last year was his worst year but I think he will rebound nicely this season. I hope your right on Nylander for the Sabres sake but I'm not totally convinced. |

The team needs second pair defensemen to be successful, too. You're still doing this comparison between "he's not elite" and "he's an absolute bum trade him" |

They alluded to him being on the roster for a while and then he'd be released for cap reasons after the presser, but it was so clumsily done. |

I dated the Russian for 2 years, there were so many adventures I ended up back in Buffalo for a 6 month “clarity” stint. Now she wants to take it international, pay for everything and it sounds amazing.

Through 4 years Ristolainen compares most favorably to Rob Blake. And Pierre Pilote is also on that list, another HOFer. I'm not saying Risto is a HOFer, at all. Just that through 4 years he's had similar seasons to those guys.
People are way too worried about him. A competent partner, not the 4th highest ATOI with longer shifts than the guys at the top of the league. Danny DeKeyser got the same amount of shifts per game but played 6:11 less per game than Risto. Competent forwards that can also play a modicum of defense and he'll be fine. 23 minutes is still borderline 1D minutes, and that would be 3:30 less a game for him. |

Nylander shot the puck into the netting from inside the blue goal crease at the game I was at.
It was harder to hit the net then miss.
He looked like "he belonged " on a 31st place team |
