McCann and 15th for Patches. Montreal can pick at center at 15. problem solved. - manvanfan
Montreal loses a 35 goal player and passes on a 35 goal prospect to take a B and C center |

I like Dobson as a reliable Dman but if Wahlstrom is there at 7 I take him in a heartbeat - VANTEL
Me too, I don't see either Dobson or Bouchard as any thing more than what you could get in the second round so I'd take the forward. |

Wahlstrom is still my 3rd choice behind boqvist and Dobson. Simply because D are never going to look as good at this age as a forward.
Van has Boeser, Lind, Dahlen, Gadjovich, Baertschi, Goldy, Lockwood, Jasek, Virtanen for wingers.
Compared to OJ, Brisebois, Chatfield. |

Montreal needs centres and defenseman, I like that they won the third pick and it's a winger year - LeftCoaster

I look at Dahlin as being McDavid level good.
What would you trade for McDavid? On an ELC?
I'd sell the farm. |

Do you want to re-think this? Where is Montreal passing on a 35 goal prospect? At no point there did they trade the 3oa pick.

Right now Van has Edler and Tanev for a few years to hold the fort . I doubt Tanev misses 40 games this year . They are bringing in OJ this year.
I too feel there is not much of a difference between Miller McIssac and Dobson . I don't pass on a 35 goal scorer for a team that starves scoring. |

Then why would they be top 10 picks? Very very few D put up points the way those two did this year, that have their size. |

That's too big of a gamble, that's also a Marc Bergevin like bad deal for the Canucks. You're killing depth for a Karlsson type player (maybe). You're trading away three years of building for one great player. It would take too long to recover from that. |

I like Dobson, don't get me wrong, I just happen to think he's a Marco Scandella type dman, which again is great, but I don't see him as a future Norris winner.
Sounds like I'm trashing him, I'm not, he's a great young player. I'm just saying if Wahlstrom is there I'd take him over Dodson.
If Wahlstrom is gone and Dobson and Boqvist are still on the board I'd have a tough time choosing at #7. |

Agree with everything
I will steal a phrase I heard yesterday
Boqvist Hughes : High risk , High reward, higher ceiling .
Dobson : Steady reliable. |

A few small differences in their draft year stats.
