I’m not saying I personally put a lot of stock into how many pull ups a 17 year old kid can do and what his ultimate potential is, but literally everyone knows this is one of the tests, and unless you were in the Mem Cup final, how could you not be training for the biggest moment of your young life? I would practice doing pull ups until I was the king of pull ups.

When I was 16 I could literally do pull ups, push ups, sit ups til no end. I was malnutrition, living on the streets, and had a policy of not saying no to drugs and booze. It baffles me when a skinny athlete cant do these things.

Without an injury a hockey player unable to do a chin up its pathetic. Yes maybe its a silly test but c’mon geez.

Johnny Tychonick up there on most results, gotta think that'll keep him in the late 1st round

They only count if the form is correct so some guys have the strength but get docked for bad form

The pull-up test is one of the dumbest for the combine. Realistically, a good prospect (ie Middlestadt) has spent the majority of their time building lower body strength and core muscles to survive; then youre trying to lift that with muscles that are minimally used.

Cardio, balance and jumping tests are really the only ones I see with any impact on the sport. Would rather see squat scores that upper body

I agree

GM's dont care about pull ups.
Koneckny had the most in 2015, and it didnt stop him from falling in the draft.

Wahlstrom is not the tallest but weighs quite a bit. Must be thick.

I’m sure GM’s are paying attention to the physical testing, but Brackett was saying they will interview roughly 80 of the 110ish players, and that these interviews are largely continuations of meetings they have had with them throughout the season.

If you have two players ranked the same then it can help to make a final decision, but you would hope a professional gm is using more than 1 criteria when determining potential draft picks.

Brian Burke was on sportsnet just the other day and he said most teams have their top of the draft order already done before this.

The combine only helps with interviewing the late round picks as top prospects are so well coached from their handlers.

The canucks have probably interviewed the top ranked 30 prospects like 5 times already.

Wahlstrom's size is deceiving. He moves like a 180 pound player on the ice.

Horvat and Gadjovich are pretty thick boys as well.
Benning likes his pick to be thick or built like a stick.

My 7 year old. Cheering for the Capitals

Me: Why are you cheering for the Capitals?
Her: Because Vegas is in the states and the Capitals are in Canada.
Me: Washington is not in Canada
Her: Well Washington I might visit one day.
Me: Any other reason why you would cheer for Washington?
Her:The Capitals are best.

Solid Logic.
