If they don't go the bridge route and take a risk in what he will pan out to be after seeing what he has produced from 2 seasons, 6x5 will likely be the outcome. For Kucherov, 8m is totally reasonable. An 8x8 deal makes sense if he is on the same page as Stamkos and Hedman, and considers winning a key objective, as mentioned. I just don't see him making more than Stamkos if he resigns with TBL.

I think you're VASTLY underestimating the impact McDavid's contract has had on the league's financial landscape. Stamkos signed his a year before Connor did and even then it was at a discount to market value. You really believe someone who just scored 100 points (and 86 the year before) is going to take just 1mil more than Kane? Even with Florida state taxes being as they are, I find that awfully improbable.

Put simply, I have other goals that involve improving myself before I pursue another long term relationship. Maybe there's an underlying goal of aiming for a "higher target" (the target being an exceptional woman) that I haven't fully recognized yet and this is just my way of pursuing it. I guess I'll see in time.

For now, I'm content carrying on with what I am. When the time comes and that changes, I'm sure I'll manage

It mostly has to do with how I was raised up. Being from a strict Catholic background, it was the mentality that was imposed that made me back off from any advances from women in general during junior high and high school. I've definitely had women flirt with me and I liked it, but the mentality made me scared to approach them and develop a relationship because of the way my family viewed it in general. I was scared of how they would react if they found out. They thought the whole BF/GF concept in high school was stupid and that you have to wait until you are old enough to do it all in one go and get married to the first one.

But then again, their ancient tradition as middle easterns (Chaldeans for those that wanna look this poop up) is so out of touch with reality it's disgusting. They treat my sister like she can't do poop and be independent. What they go by is ridiculous in general.

I'll definitely want to strike up a relationship with a girl that I care about someday, but I don't want to force it. If that happens now, great, if not, ah well. Time will tell. I'm young and I have other priorities in life that should also be taken into account. Education, career advances, focusing on my hobbies, exploring the world, and creating things.

Overall, I disagree with your assessment of how the Connor McDavid Contract completely shifts the league's financial landscape by its magnitude alone.

Edit: Kopitar's contract is at 10m btw, the point still stands though and there are more examples too of how the Kane/Toews deal didn't play a major role in changing the financial landscape in general and with regards to what other players on the same level or better got around at the time.
