When’s the last time a team traded a top nine pick for a good young player? Schneider for Horvat?

That’s the only one I can think of??

At the end of the day that trade didn’t help NJ in any way, it’s helped the Canucks though because of Horvats age.

I don’t care about the other idiots, I care that we have one and I want to get rid of him.

If he has a good draft and gets more picks I’ll actually start to like and respect his 76 IQ.

Among five players making the trip to Ottawa this week will be Halifax Mooseheads forward Filip Zadina, Brady Tkachuk from Boston University and Barrie forward Andrei Svechnikov.

The Senators like all three.

The Senators also have the Pittsburgh Penguins first-round pick at No. 22 they acquired in the Derick Brassard deal, but that could be used to get a second and third-round pick if the right offer presents itself on draft day. They don’t have one and Dorion did mention he may try to acquire a second-rounder through a trade.

- VANTEL

svechnikov will be gone by 4oa, zadina maybe too, so it appears the sens take tkachuk 4oa which pushes the talent we seek up within reach.
What a tire fire the sens are!

Again, we should be trading with them, they've been getting robbed all season. See what we get the 4oa or 22oa for.....hopefully its LE

Hardest time of the year to get picks. Everyone wants more now.

TDL is the easiest time to get them.

The 7OA and Hutton would be a consideration. No Demko.
- LordHumungous

I'd say no to trading demko as well. I'd offer DiPietro though

I went and looked at a few years and just counted every picked traded within a couple days of draft and tdl. It's a lot closer to being equal then you would think most years. I think the TDL came out on top by only a few picks every year.

if you want to shop a top 6F or top 4 D then you can do that anytime, but teams aren’t going to be as interested in depth players right now with free agency right around the corner

I’d bet good money that way more depth players get moved for picks at the TDL than the draft

Most people are talking about moving players like Nilsson, Granlund, Hutton, etc.

You can keep your picks and just sign similar players during free agency.

Pretty much.

Should probably sell Tanev at the draft and Baertschi

Seen players like Shaw and Eller go for 2-2nds. Johansson in a cap cut a 2nd and 3rd. Right now 2nd and 4th would make me happy.
