Right now a trip to the woodpile and a bowl of ice cream would make me happy.😀

Hanifin for Demko seems like a steal for the Canucks imo.
- RonPielep
it would be. Realistic is to expect demko+

Seen players like Shaw and Eller go for 2-2nds. Johansson in a cap cut a 2nd and 3rd. Right now 2nd and 4th would make me happy.
- manvanfan

Shaw provides grit/toughness, added value in that for GM's. Eller is a C.

Johansson is the most similar in terms of position/style, but he had hit 45+ points in 4 different seasons and was coming off of a 58 point season before getting traded.

Baertschi has ever scored more than 35 points in a single season

He’s not worth trading at his current value unless as part of a package

svechnikov will be gone by 4oa, zadina maybe too, so it appears the sens take tkachuk 4oa which pushes the talent we seek up within reach.
What a tire fire the sens are!

Again, we should be trading with them, they've been getting robbed all season. See what we get the 4oa or 22oa for.....hopefully its LE

if we pick Tkachuck I'm gonna find a rope.

I would like Demko + Hutton for Hanifin as Vancouver. Then pick a great Dman at 7 and you probably have your top 2 for the future. Still DiPietro as good goalie prospect in the pipeline

Don't worry, you'll pick him at 7ov after we move up.

I was wondering today, what pick would cause the most drama on these boards, as people seem fairly divided about the D available (too small, too safe, too many concussions, etc).

Tkatchuk is my prediction.

I'm good either way. We need help in all positions.

Could be a decent top 6 one day with.

he is a player we could use for sure, but not at expense of not selecting wahlstrom etc.
Doesn't matter anyway, sens sound like they're taking him at 4oa

I think this will be an interesting draft for sure.
Lots of variables in play.

I'd be good with any of the top5 (after Dhalin, the Ruskie and Zadina are gone).

Tkatchuk
Wahlstrom
Boqvist
Hughes
Dobson

honorable mention goes to Bouchard, who is likely another solid pick.

we should eliminate Boqvist due to his concussion history. We already have LE ruined by a bad concussion history

Meh.
I don't know if it's that big of a deal.
He's almost a year younger than other's in his draft year is highly skilled, a great skater and has a howitzer.
He's a PP QB that we need.

i'd be down if he passes all the physical's.

When’s the last time a team traded a top nine pick for a good young player? Schneider for Horvat?

That’s the only one I can think of??

At the end of the day that trade didn’t help NJ in any way, it’s helped the Canucks though because of Horvats age.

- LeftCoaster

Stefan Noesen, Jakob Silverberg, Nick Ritchie (10oa) for Bobby Ryan.

Close enough and that has sure helped Anaheim stay a float.

(frank) Ottawa sucks at trading.

Team that gets the experienced player doesn't come out on the better side of those trades. Although Hanifin is much younger at 22 next season.

Schneider was 27 and Ryan was 25 at the time of their trades.

my guess is we sign him to a 3 year market value deal maybe around 10mil with no trade protections

unless he gets packaged, but i dont think the likelihood is high

Just talked with #WHLGiants F Milos Roman who says he talked with 17 teams at the NHL Combine last week in Buffalo including the #Canucks. Roman could be the 1st forward taken from the WHL in the NHL Draft this month.

Roman on his meeting with the #Canucks, "It was a great meeting with them, I enjoyed it and it was 1 of the best for me."

Roman on maybe being selected by the #Canucks in round 2, "It would be really nice, it would be probably the best choice. I liked the meeting with the #Canucks, would be good to go to Vancouver again."
