Drouin is an extremely talented player...yeah he has issues, but him skating with jack is pretty enticing - Michael Pachla
No way they part with drouin. He is a special player. The problem with him right now is that he’s being forced to play in the middle when in an ideal world he’s a 1LW. Once he goes back to where he’s comfortable he’ll be a pain in our side for many years. |

Wasn't this the Kane conversation when he was in WPG?
You're looking at 5.5 for Drouin and 7.75 (future imo) for Patches. That's a lot of celery, with only 7.5 going out. - jcragcrumple
If Patch signs for 5-6yrs,
and Drouin works out on Jack’s wing...
then i have absolutely zero issue with the combined Cap hit for those 2 guys
I think Patch is an underrated player
My only concern with him is length of contract he’d demand
And if we got Drouin or Galchenyuk with him, and they work out...
I’d say that’s a win
Big win actually |

Maybe that’s why he’d be available?
That 13 goal season last year doesn’t help his value either
Montreal GM is probably desperate to save his job
So it might be possible |

If they want to move ROR, that's the sort of deal I'd look for. Players who can make an impact now. It would give the wing a big boost
The bolded is a concern, but I like the player. Not sure if they'd have to clear salary for next year or not. |

Yeah, i like Patch too
Underrated imo
We could make it work for next year
Probably just ship out Beaulieu for a mid-late round pick if necessary |

So Grigorenko technically worked out then - Stripes77
Technically Grigorenko did work out for the Sabres. He was a big peice in landing O’Reilly.
This is the part people are forgetting, even if one of our 1sts are underwhelming, they still hold value for years.
Even Girgensons has some value right now |

Fair point on Grigorenko...
but if we trade O’Reilly, then it would depend on how those pieces worked out ultimately |

With Montreal, I would want to unhook Pacioretti from any ROR discussion unless they are willing to add productive players into the mix. I don’t think the character of Drouin and Gally is what the Sabres should be trying to acquire as a central piece...the warning signs are there already with those two.
Again, there isn’t too much I would want from them outside their 2018 1st. - IonSabres
Why do you need max pacioretty ? He’s going to be old by the time we’re competing I would rather trade for him if he was 25 or 26 |

Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
I'm a lot like you were.
Old man look at my life,
Twenty four
and there's so much more
Live alone in a paradise
That makes me think of two.
Love lost, such a cost,
Give me things
that don't get lost.
Like a coin that won't get tossed
Rolling home to you. |

Thoughts on Galchenyuk? - jdfitz77
Would be cool with him he needs a change of scenery I don’t know what it is but the coaches play him on the third line and they limit him imagine if he was on a line with Jack Eichel |

How is he winner ? Just wondering
He’s going to be 30 and we’re going to give him a 8m deal ? I don’t like that
he’s going to decline if he hasn’t already
Drouin another nylander ...What have you seen him play He’s being forced to play a position that he’s not good at |

Grigorenko was not a big piece in the O'Reilly Trade. Zadorov, Compher, and the high 2nd round pick were the main pieces. Grigs was a secondary piece bordering on thrown in.
It will be interesting to see what kind of value Girgensons has right now if and when he is dealt. My bet is not a lot. |
