Brady Tkachuk is Brandon Sutter. If it wasn't for his last name, there is little that projects big time for him. - Lindenis#1
Seems like they have a completely different game and play different positions on the ice. So, no. Tkachuk is on many scouts list to make the jump straight into the show if he wants, he's that good around the net/sideboards in the o-zone. |

I have them taking Boquist myself. They've always been a franchise high on euros. Either is a good pick, and whichever they don't take I hope we do (assuming Boquist doesn't go earlier). - neem55
They used to be, and that was generally because they used to be the only franchise who spent any money scouting Europe.
Since everyone else has more or less caught up and is like "wow, that Sweden has hockey players in it" they aren't as special anymore. They've been heavy NA especially high lately. |

Tall, famous last names, underwhelming draft year stats, for some reason are considered fantastic players.
I guess Sutter is one up because he's the best of the second generation Sutters and Brady can't match skill to his brother. |

Interesting comment from Filip Zadina pertaining to #Habs in @Michael_Traikos story: "Montreal, I know very well. I've been to the city many times and they're fans are awesome. But I think they're looking for a centre or a D." |

Neither of those centers are worthy of 7. Someone ahead of us is going to reach, we are going to have someone quality drop to us like Hughes, boquist, tkachuk or wahlstrom - neem55
Both these players have played C.

so has EP but it seems like his future is a winger. The vast majority of guys who are draft as soft centers never stick there. |

Benning is promoting EP as a center. He said he *may* start on the wing but they have every intention of developing him as a center.

Then you play him at center.
The list of "centers" who started on the wing with the plan to move them over, and never happens is hella long. Even guys who made the transition back like Granlund and Seguin took a while. Last year was Seguins first full year being the primary center on his line. at 26. Granlund moved back to the wing last year.
Brayden point is the only guy I found to have started on the wing and moved back in the middle as a scoring player. And he had a pretty legit split between him and Boyle his rookie season before taking over this year. |

PLD started on the wing - VANTEL
Fair, but he actually spent a year at center in junior learning it, and he doesn't make a pencil look thicc. EP got a handful of games on and off through the year.
The team wouldn't let Goldobin make a turnover without benching him when they were in last place. Colour be surprised if they're going to give EP a crash course at center next season. |
