If I was Calgary I wouldn't have traded Hamonic for 2 firsts and a second but hey some GMs do crazy sh1t - VANTEL
1 1st, 2 2nds. |

Every GM makes a bad deal somewhere look at
Treliving Hamonic for 2 firsts and a second
Burke Kessel for 2 firsts and a second
McPhee Foresberg for Erat
Bergeron Subban for Weber , Droun for Sergachev
Chia Pet Larson for Hall - VANTEL
This just deflects from our argument ....even has you admitting I’m right if you can’t defend against it and have to use other GM comparables
I think by the end of this year you’ll have the Hamonic trade at 3 firsts lol

It will always seem like two firsts and a second .
Anyways I like Canucks management group and coaching staff better than any of the Alberta teams

Horvat has had better numbers than Hank in his first 4 years but he is sitting around the 50 pt mark after 4 years. I think he will hit 70 pts around his 7 th year .
Horvat is the same era as EP . I still think players peak around 24-25 . Just my opinion. - VANTEL
That's fair, and they very well might peak around that time. Initially you asked what's going to be the C situation for this year and why do people think signing a stop-gap for 2 years is all we need. Personally it's because I think in 2 or 3 years Horvat Pettersson and Gaudette will be able to hold down the top 3 C spots on our team and if we get there and they're not ready just sign another FA for a year or 2. |

At this point I'd be happy with a Gudbranson for Bjugstad trade even though I'm not a huge fan of his, I hate him less that Gudbranson and we need a center. |

Gudbrandson was a bad trade because he has been injured for more than half his term here. Pile on top of that he comes in under two different coaches and systems and has been paired with less than desirable partners.
How good do you expect him to be. |

Agree, we're not looking at peak years, we're just looking at playing the position. Following next season I expect Pettersson to be playing center, as a 21 year old. |

Same. And of course that will be in sheltered minutes to start, but he'll learn fast I would expect. |

I think they would have hoped he by a good 3/4 guy who helps stabilize the youth on the back end

I think Petterson would be so much better off playing with a ROR or a RNH than learning with Granlund or Sutter.
It will make a huge difference . It could also be a winger like a James Neal over a Sven Baertschi

The kid is super talented, he'll just need some time to adjust I would think. He way more skilled than Horvat so I expect him to be the number one in three years time. |

Play him with Gaudette or whoever they sign in free agency to start. If he does well, put him with Bo and Brock. Sutter's going to be playing shut down of the top lines so he's the only one off the table. If Pettersson is scoring and playing well why not play him with the best? |

You did say less than a week ago you can't slot them in on potential!

Gaudette is trying to find his game also . He needs to play with experience too same as EP |

What is with your "learning" thing? What's he learning? You don't need to be a great player to know the game well. He'll learn nothing from the players who play other than tendencies of other players and where to be on the ice in certain situations. But that's also what coaches are for.
Talent wise the other players will learn from him, not the other way around. He's probably the most talent Canucks player already. |

Of course not, that's why I think Pettersson will be sheltered on the third line to start the year and I'm not worried about his center. If he forces his way up the food chain then great, but to slot him in on the top six right now is wrong.
Because of his talent level I expect him on the team, unlike other kids who they've drafted and might not be on the team. |

The third line is Sutters line .
You have stated before Sutter would be a horrible line mate for him |

Sutter would be, but in the short term, who cares, it won't matter, I'm thinking long term. |

They saw them playing good on a line and everyone in here creamed to get LE for the twins ....there was lots of chatter prior to his signing - Redmile247
