We can call up Chaput and no assets given up - VANTEL
Right in his prime. He's only going to get better. |

For my birthday today, all I wish for is that JB is able to get another 2nd and another 3rd round pick for the draft in 17 days.
I feel that i'm not asking for much. |

This team is not getting better via trades. Sucking and hopefully adding draft picks should be next years plan. - A_SteamingLombardi
I have no idea what they are doing nor am I suggesting they should do.
Jim has come out and said he needs a center for Petterson and has said he would like to get a Dman.
These are two top insiders that have made statements a week apart on what they heard about Canucks. We are just in here having fun playing detective.
I really dislike a lot of Canucks spare parts and don't mind if they try to upgrade but am not pushing for it.
I like Sutter but he is clearly not a top 6 center to play with Petterson. |

Same page.
Sutter, Granlund and Hutton for ROR plus Moulson. Capspace move for Buffalo, plus adds some depth.
or
Tanev for ROR - dbot

What if the plan is
Sutter OJ for ROR?
Hanifin for the 7 th?
There is your center and NHL young Dman

Would do both those deals. |

Then you’re losing some good future to be better now which isn’t ideal to me. Neither of those players get us into the playoffs. I don’t like ROR’s attitude. |

It doesn't make sense - why give up our top rated D prospect and the 7th (which could very well be a high end D) as well for Hannifin - OJ & 7th could up both being better than Hannifin. Friedman said he believes the Canes new GM is putting out feelers on 90% of his players just to understand their value and that makes sense to me.
I wanna keep the picks we have, hopefully acquire a few more before the draft and continue to stick with and have faith in our prospects. |

Sounds like Benning moves but you forgot to add the 2nd round picks...
Seriously though ROR makes no sense if the are planning on playing EP at center. They need a 1 year stop gap not a 3 year 7.5 million anchor. |

I'm keeping OJ. He's gonna be fine. He just probably won't be a 1-2. It won't be immediate either. But he'll be a top 4. At best he will be a 2. very possible. but will take some time.
i'm all over the map.
DON'T TRADE PROSPECTS. HOARD THEM.
I want Tanev paired with OJ this year. If someone overpays for Tanev, then move him at TDL. - storm88

I went to Deep Bay a couple times a year when i was a kid. My Grandparents had a trailer down there. Memories.... We were just down there 2 summers ago for my Dad's 70th. - storm88
I lived in Surrey for 30 years, and spent lots of summer weekends at Deep Bay as well... we must have met at some point |

I know OJ is 20 but I haven't seen any indication yet of "High End" . We will see |

My guess is solid 3-4 with upside. Matty Ohlund clone would be great.

I would love another Ohlund. I just don't see it personally . I do see him as a number 4 though. |

That's fine , but if it is the case I would rather Pettersson stayed in Sweden instead of being teamed up with Bozak and Baertschi |

Gunnarsson. |

1st trade = Too much from Vancouver IMO.
2nd option - would really depend on the prospect.
Not big on Reinhardt - dbot
I actually doubt buffalo would do the first trade ... |

EP, Bo, ROR through the middle could be championship calibre at some point? is that a question they're asking?
im ok if we lose oj and keep tanev to bring oreilly in (banking on sutter going). would maybe add a token prospect or pick
id overpay a bit on hanifin to keep demko and dahlen (and i'd think hard on gaudette), but they can take whoever else
means the rebuild is pretty much over, but could be fun? going to bank on hitting on a few draft picks, or maybe some lotto luck, for the next couple of years when we're on the bubble, then have a run at some big name FA to supplement
i dunno

Another solution is take the best Center in this draft . The D can stop gap the next 3 years as is. Run with the same crap forwards and collect another high pick next year. Draft a Dman in the second and third

Excluding players like Tkachuk and Wahlstrohm, who are probably more suited as wingers, the top centres, Kotkaniemi, Veleno and Hayton are in the 9 -14 pick range....are you suggesting trade down. |

The Caps are a perfect example of how we need to be patient. They have been a dominant force in the league almost since ovi entered and this will likely be their first cup. - Retinalz
Still funny to me that Trotz started Grubauer in games 1&2 vs. CBJ |
