Excluding players like Tkachuk and Wahlstrohm, who are probably more suited as wingers, the top centres, Kotkaniemi, Veleno and Hayton are in the 9 -14 pick range....are you suggesting trade down.
- Reubenkincade

I would rather see them move up to get a late first to grab a center if their guy is still there or take a guy like Wise or Olafson at 37.

So I saw that the Ducks (LA too) have an interest in Sutter, but what could one expect back in return for him. I'm not sure he's worth a 1st (maybe), but more likely a 2nd, would that be enough? Maybe there is some bad money the Canucks can eat that would entice Anaheim to give up a first to get him. Would it be a first this year or next?
Thoughts?

i cant see a sutter deal happening this year largely because i think mgmt wants more veteran depth down the middle. i could see him being moved after the season when his ntc becomes modified and gaudette/pettersson have a season under their belts

Montour would be nice but would be happy with a 2nd.

Canucks aren't moving Sutter. They'll be trying to add a centre, not subtract one

12 years as GM and he missed the playoffs 9 times.

Nice job performance.

Not totally his fault as the owner was a complete wing-nut for much of his tenure, but still, once they were competitive he let it all fall apart again?

Sutter can go back to Carolina with the 7OA for Hanifin.

What if the plan is

Sutter OJ for ROR?

Hanifin for the 7 th?

There is your center and NHL young Dman

- VANTEL

OJ with Sutter is an overpayment on the upgrade RoR gives at his cap. But I could see it happen if we got a 2nd back with RoR

It’s literally just a bunch of quotes

Virtanen probably had a similar article written about him too, same with McCann

Taking Kotkaniemi at 7 is not a reach when he is projected at 9. Trading down for him could cost us him.

Take Kotkaniemi don't bring in more contracts like Bozak or Spezza. Leave Pettersson in Sweden one year, leave Gaudette and Dahlen in Utica and run with Gagner Leipsic Motte Sven and Granlund and end up in last then draft Jack hughes
- VANTEL

I'm not against going for Spezza as he only has a year left. Means that we'd get a pick or prospect back as I don't think Dallas would want to eat salary.

Dallas is a team that needs picks . The cap is going up 3-8 mil this year , no need to dump salary

Yeah not a fan of the cap going up. Makes teams that were tight have wiggle room. I just figured Dallas wouldn't want to pay his hefty price tag

I actually like him as a prospect, but I just think there’s 7-8 players with higher upside

I’ve seen some people rank him in the same tier as Zadina, which is insane to me

Yeah, according to Stars fans they’d rather just keep Spezza for 1 more year instead of giving up a pick to unload him.

But they’re open to moving him without getting much in return
