how much would you give up to move up and take Oliver Wahlstrom - wcorvette
It is complete ultracrepidarianism to think that the Flyers should move up to select the unbarbigerous dandiprat Wahlstrom, and that not just currilous talk. However, should the Flyers decide to pursue the fainéant, I think that two malapert grimalkins and divers camelopards should get it done. |

I get it.
But coming off the injuries this year I don't believe he'll come back and be able to avoid future injuries. Once you get one your tend to start getting more nicks and they seem to take longer to recover. Just my feeling.
His style of play doesn't lend himself to being protected from much. Especially if everyone wants to see the fighting, hitting, net front PP player.
If I am wrong, great. But I am not getting my hopes up for a huge resurgence. - J35Bacher
It may be a feeling but there is nothing behind it. Hockey is a physical sport. No guarantee of avoiding injury but the flip side is there is nothing to say that he can't come back completely healthy. |

Snow let go by the Isles. Gonna take a wild guess that he couldn't get a deal with Taveras done. - hereticpride
Hopefully Tavares is the first star with balls to walk away from their franchise since before the cap was put in place. I mean bonafied superstar. With all the crap I heard about Steve Yzerman playing hard ball with Stamkos, I'm blown away Stammer didn't go home to Toronto. |

So I was reading about the kid the Phils took at #3 and this kiddo can rake
28-39 K/BB ratio as a junior too. OBP .438. Can't complain |

The last 3 #1 picks the Phil’s have made are killing it. Much confidence |

14th and the 2nd? - wcorvette
Yeah, I'd offer 14th overall and the 50th overall to EDM for 10th overall (and I'd try to get a mid rounder back as well).
That's if Farabee is on the board at 10. If there's a run on forwards early I'm not sure I make that move. |

They'd better back the money trucks up for an outfielder with a bat this off-season. |

JoeGreif? The 96 year old with 40 years of GM experience? He showed up the other day in Tanner's thread. |

There was a documentary on NBCSN late night about the Czech national team winning olympic gold in 1998. I was too young to pay attention/care too much back then, but it was a well done documentary and was really awesome to watch vintage Hasek highlights. That guy was incredible - YuenglingJagr
I saw it too. Great piece.
Hasek was the shiznits! Scary thing to consider: he was Ed Belfour's back up in Chicago before being traded to Buffalo. Imagine what Chicago could have received in return for Belfour in a trade instead, a king's ransom... |

He didn't want to play in Boston. He probably doesn't want to play here either. |

SB Nation gave that pick a “C” because Santana is currently at first for another 2 seasons, his defense is supposedly average and Rhys Hoskins for some reason, not elaborated upon. Great analysis! |
