I’m typing this in response to you bc we have had some pretty epic arguments on here
Yet still,
I’m more than willing to tell u about the time i hung out with Jared Leto & his band
Instead of just acting like a teenager & holding a grudge bc we disagree on whether or not O’Reilly should be traded
They were really cool
Had just been starting to get popular
Came into Coles while i was working & got a beer while they were waiting for takeout from the Thai place next door
Didn’t really know much about the band,
so i (frank)ed w him about “My so called life” (which the rest of the band LOVED)
And talked about some cool behind the scenes stuff from Fight Club
*apparently Brad Pitt is cool as f*ck,
and Ed Norton is a pretty quiet guy till u get some beers in him... and Meatloaf is the kind of crazy guy that will nickname himself “Meatloaf” lol
Their show wasn’t till the next night,
so i directed them to a few cool spots to check out
They put me on the list for the show,
so i took the next night off & went
They’d hooked me up with backstage passes (super unnecessary, but awesome)...
So i went back to say thanks,
and we just shot the sh!t for a while
Jake Gyllenhall was actually there,
(came down from Toronto film shoot)
so i got to hang with him too
They had just worked on a movie together or something i think, & were obviously buds
Got to talk to him about “Donnie Darko”
I definitely went home that night & watched it (not sober), and it was like a whole new freaking world
Had some beers with them & rocked out
Was a pretty rad night
PS.
Brought them wings & beef on weck
They were enjoyed by all...
Except Leto
He wasn’t eating meat at the time
Not sure if he’s a vegetarian or not still
Anyways,
hope u enjoyed the story
