What? That cross check last night? That was just a 2 minute penalty. It wasn't right at the boards, it was an oblique angle, not straight in from a push to the lower back, it was high up on the shoulders, about across the nameplate. - Wetbandit1
It’s not just that |

I think the simple question when it comes to moving ror for the no. 2 or 3 is:
would you give up the no. 2 or 3 for ror?
I don't think I would this year - Michael Pachla
Normally, the easy answer is “no way”
Which is why i don’t see Carolina giving up pick 2
The extenuating circumstances in Montreal
(GM trying to save his job)
gives me slight hope that he could get desperate enough to make the trade

Referee's miss calls. Just because it was a 2 minute minor doesn't mean McNabb wasn't trying to hurt him.
That was a bad hit - Boss34
No, I mean to say he got what he deserved. A minor penalty and laid out all the reasons why it wasn't more, Pierre made it sound like McNabb killed him. |

I liked him, I think there were concussion issues too.
My point was, tmgm tried to trade a nhl ready defenseman like mcnabb for a college guy that would play years later light fasching.
Maybe it was just an unplanned bad trade?
I think gm's have a plan though.
Tmgm's plan was to rid any talent to lock down last place and get mceichel.
Do you disagree? - Boss34
There’s no way he shipped McNabb out as part of the tank
That makes no sense
All GMTM would’ve had to do was keep him in Rochester |

McNabb was just a plain bad move, what better way to be the Kings than to actually be the Kings! |

I remember a few months back we had a discussion in one of the blogs regarding potential 1st round surprises. I had mentioned Kotkaniemi going top 10 possibly top 5 and at that time he was ranked in the 15-20 range. I wonder if he even goes off the board at 3 now to Montreal. |

If u want to believe something that makes ZERO sense,

It’s obvious that the McNabb trade had nothing to do with the tank
You’re wrong again sir |

I didnt say it wasn't a bad trade. I turned out to be a really bad trade.
I think part of tmgm's overall theme was to get worse temporarily, (trading for an injured ekane) then get better immediately after the mceichel pick.
Just suggesting another angle to the trade.

I agree, but I don't think trading a young defenseman you can easily keep down on the farm does that for you. |

TMGM led us to historically bad levels but without him we don't have Eichel, Guhle, Reinhart (jury is still out), and put us in the positions to select Mittelstadt and Dahlin. So as bad as he train wrecked us, will we remember all the suffering when we are a perennial playoff contender ? Does anyone ever remember how bad Chicago and Pittsburgh were in the early 2000's or just the Stanley Cups ? Lets just sit back and enjoy whatever comes next, can bicker about the past till everyone turns blue in the face and it won't change anything. |

Was mcnabb waiver eligible?
Basically, aside from it being a huge one sided trade so far, I was suggesting another possibility. That's all.

He was exempt. You need at least 60 NHL games to be eligible, or 25+.
Edit: He had 27 games I think and was only 23.
Double edit: 37 games. |

I think he just wanted to be bigger and meaner, and it backfired spectacularly. |
