I heard that and I was shocked, tbh. I don't see any way the Sabres would trade him for that. That's crazy town.
That's a pure cap dump. If your only goal is to shed salary, there's other ways to do it |

They won't. Not unless it's a great deal for us. RoR has value. And so does having 3 quality centers on your team. Remember, Botts was quoted multiple times as saying that having three or four good to great centers is what won them championships in Pitt. I don't think he's chomping at the bit to lose that center depth. |

What did Jack do to earn the 1C spot in his first ever NHL game? Nothing. But we drafted him to be that guy, so he was given the opportunity. We drafted Nylander to be our first line LW. But he's had a rough go with injuries and piss-poor centers in Rochester. Still, we need a LW for Jack and he was drafted to be that guy, lets see if he can handle it. We can always send him back down to Rochester if he can't. |

Shannon - Mike Babcock and Auston Matthews had their meeting in Arizona about the direction of the team moving forward. I keep hearing the meeting didn't go very well from a Babcock perspective. - Stripes77

Not surprised Toronto is running into problems. We heard so much about how they did their rebuild right, but did they really? I think they jumped the gun like we did.
Toronto landed a franchise center and two good wingers. That equates to 1 very good line, not a full team. They're losing JVR and Bozak, their bottom 6 isn't anything great, and their defense sucks. They do have a good goaltender and I've heard they have a goalie prospect that's stellar.
But, still, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, and Anderson is not enough by themselves to win a cup or even go deep into the playoffs. They have few nice pieces in the barn, but I wouldn't consider them a deep franchise. They should have stayed with the tanking for another season or two, but choose to begin competing once they landed Matthews. It was a mistake and I believe we'll see them pay for it. |

I have a lot of questions about this post. - TheSabresTaco
The post is a comment on how so many feel that Nylander hasn't earned a chance, and yes, I can see why people feel that way. But what does playing him with Jack for 10 games really hurt? If he can't handle it, send him down. Players who were drafted in rounds 2-7 need to cut their teeth in the AHL, they need to earn their chance in the NHL.
Nylander was drafted for a specific reason, to fill a hole in our top 6 LW. If he's seriously hit the gym again like he did last summer, than give him a shot. His injuries have been a factor, but so is when you bury him with garbage in Rochester and wonder why he isn't a goal per game sniper. |
