I'm terrified Benning is going to trade that pick for Hanifin.

I agree, boo to Hanifin. He may well turn out better than our draft pick,
but I want the shiny new toy. I'm sick of these used reclamation projects.

I see him trading down with either the Islanders or Flyers!

Bingo....I'm so tired of him missing on young players. Just use the pick and build from within.

Flyers need defence, I hope he offers Tanev for the Blues first round pick.

Awhile ago one of my coworkers said that if Carolina had gotten first he'd try and trade Boeser and 7th for Ramsus Dahlin if he was Benning.

I cringed when my coworker told me that. I said I'd want to keep Boeser and draft a defenseman at 7th

trading Sutter or tanev would make it such a good draft for us. for sure we finish on the bottom again, but we would look a lot better going forward

21 year old kid that can skate extremely well, transition the puck effortlessly and is trending positively. also, 6'3, 210 and an established top 4 D. Bust!

Exactly. It blows my mind. I can see why people don't want to give up dipietro and 7, but Hanafin has a huge upside and Carolina just doesn't want to pay him.

So who's the pick for MVP if Wash closes it out tonight? OV and Kuznetsov have been very close, but I think Kuznetsov has to be the one with 31 points in 23 games and the series winner vs. PIT

I'd imagine that is why he switched agencies and Carolina is considering moving on. Similar to trouba two years ago: unproven but on the rise. Trouba is going to get paid big. Hanafin is much different player, but is trending none the less. More like Klingberg, Ghost or Krug (Not JBo, no :lol

it's kuznetzov for me, no brainer. Not many guys have gotten over 30 points in the modern era.

Edit: There's only three other guys in the last 10 years to crack 30 and that's Couture(another criminal unappreciated player) on the losing SJ sharks. More than Kane, Crosby, Malkin... pretty impressive.
Edit 2: Last guy to get more than Kuznetsov: Crosby 2008-2009 36 points, Malkin had 31 that year.

Originally I was going to say Fleury would win it but I'm thinking Kuznetsov will get it if they close out tonight. He's been huge for Washington

Will his agent is Patt brisson who got contracts for Toews Okposo, and Giroux

Benning would fold like a cheap suit in contract negotiations.

Yeah if VGK could extend it to game 7 and lose then Fleury might have a shot but unless they can make it a more competitive series no chance

That's crazy, I knew he was scoring at a good clip but I didn't know what kind of company he is in

Ya, he's been consistently their best guy IMO. Holtby and OV have been really good too but this is a special run for Kuz. SO let's draft a dam Russian

yes that was a poor choice of words, I didn't mean that about Hanifin, he's obviously a young guy with good skills.

More of the Gubranson, Baertschi, Sutter, Clendening and Pouliot type guys who's he's spent draft picks on acquiring.

I just gotta ask myself though, why is Hanifin available? He's poor defensively and only puts up just ok offensive numbers, it's been said by NHL insiders like Ferraro that they don't see him as any more than a 30 - 35 point guy so I don't get what all the fuss is about.

I’m guessing this isn’t about his on ice play

Canes fans wanted Faulk traded prior to this
