I was just venting, I'll be ok. If I could come up with one example though, it'd be the fact in four years not once has Benning or Linden, because they're in this together, come up with more than their allotted seven draft picks and actually used them to draft kids.

They had more in 2014 but traded a 2nd for Vey and a 3rd for Dorsett. They were missing a 4th rounder that year because Gillis traded it for Zac Dalpe.

To JB, players like Beartchi, Granlund, Vey, etc were equal to picks in the 2-4 range I suppose and with the aception of the surprise high ceiling you have a long shot at making your own pick... it panned out like drafted players... hits and misses to one level or another.

When our young top line of Boeser/Horvat/Beartchi was healthy and on fire teasing us about our future, no one was complaining about Beartchi for a 2nd. If they stayed healthy at the same time, I'd expect much better production out of Beartchi. People omit stuff like being out for weeks at a time with a broken jaw and losing all your line mates to injury when they judge what kind of production he's capable of.

I don't care how the picks originally left, my point was that they left with more than 7 prospects. He made a trade to acquire more picks, the thing everyone wanted him to do.
- NorthNuck

My point is, without the free one from the NHL they still haven't acquired more than their allotted seven picks. My point still stands.

Sounds good but substitute the cuban cigar for a fat indica jazz cigarette.

I don't like weed, haven't smoked it since I was in my mid 20's, and that was a long time ago. I've only smoked it three times and that was enough for me to know it wasn't for me.

Beer is my drug of choice!!

Never a big believer in Baertschi, we don't know who they'd have picked with that pick or whether or not he'd have turned out as good as Baertschi.

I guess my point is I'd rather see them select a player through time and effort identifying one instead of taking on a project player like Sven. Who in my opinion, at 26, won't contribute to any successful future Canuck team.

I dont think he was a "project player". I think he was just a young player with upside.

Yeah I really don't get the bashing of Baertschi and wanting to trade him. He's more useful in Van than the 2nd we'd get for him would be.

Wouldnt pay for it but would smoke it in my teens. Non smoker through my 20's. Occasional drunk smoker in my 30s... living in the woodpile in my 40's.

Agree. Not enough trade value, better to give him more PP time and hope he scores more. Then trade him.

Yeah I don't really have an issue with him, 'per se', I don't like his size and the fact he's not a great skater, not slow but not fast either.

Yeah I don't have a problem trading him in a year or 2 if he drives his value up but right now I think he's good to have around. Somebody's gotta play with Bo and Brock.

I don't think anyone ever fit the "big Beartchi believer" tag. Facts are only being discussed to counter to your one sided posts is all.

Sources? More than one other? And what is a source? I know I've pointed out on many occasions that a group repeating a source does not increase the number of sources...

I think keep him for another year while others like Lind and Gadjovich develop in the AHL for a year.

Each to their own. I know it's not for everyone, I've seen a few brave souls who had a couple of puffs at a party or wedding and then had to be taken home a short time later. . Whether it's a fine wine or spirit, a soy latte or mellow jazz cigarette, it is to be enjoyed by those imbibing. The garden at this time of year is a great setting for such.

It was good to see Makita love you out of a bit of a rough patch there. He's a good poster.

I guess going on four years with the talk of trading the 7th overall and going into this draft, so far, with less than their seven picks, I get a little irritated they still won't commit to the draft. At least not full out.

This is how I feel. I think Beartchi if healthy, can make himself a tradable asset.

I know. I get it. Don't forget I'm the habitual counter poster.

I'd only trade that 7th depending on who's available at the very moment JBs turn is up. I know the things that turn you away from draft eligibles... Hanifin has skills and size over these guys depending on which one and only 21...

Would you take little and often concussed Boqvist over Hanifin?

Would you take tiny Hughes with his average shot over Hanifin?

Would you take slow footed Bouchard over Hanifin?

Out of those 3, I'd only take Hughes over Hanifin.
