I know. I get it. Don't forget I'm the habitual counter poster.
I'd only trade that 7th depending on who's available at the very moment JBs turn is up. I know the things that turn you away from draft eligibles... Hanifin has skills and size over these guys depending on which one and only 21...
Would you take little and often concussed Boqvist over Hanifin?
Would you take tiny Hughes with his average shot over Hanifin?
Would you take slow footed Bouchard over Hanifin?
Out of those 3, I'd only take Hughes over Hanifin. - boonerbuck
Hughes Wahlstrom or Dobson I'd take. If those 3 are gone in the top 6 I'd be fine trading it.

Nailed it. Thats where I am. If Boqvist, Bouchard and Tkachuk are the obvious choices available... I pass on the two Dmen and am on the fence about Tkachuck. He's going to be a good player for sure... not sure about ceiling though. Therefor the Hanifin consideration over him. The whole scenario is unlikely but this applies to other potential trades as well. I've put little thought into it outside of the Hanifin rumour to be honest.

Tkachuk would be my 9th or 10th choice in this draft.

Well...my shortest explanation would be that the team badly needs two things, a skilled defenseman, a right shooting one, and a center. So with that in mind, I'd take Wahlstrom, Dobson or Hughes with the pick before I'd even consider trading it for Hanifin.
I don't like his offensive upside (Hanifin) so I'd rather use the picks to get a dman whose more offensive from the blue line or get a forward who can skate and play center.
LOL I don't even know what a soy latte means but as I said, whatever makes you happy. - LeftCoaster
Soy Latte
1)a descriptor.
Used whenever someone says something pretentious or just 'full-of-poop-esque."
Used because people who drink the aforementioned beverage think they are better than regular people who drink latte's with 'milk' in it (hence the reason why it is called a latte).
Girl A: "I feel so much better than everyone else because I am a vegetarian now."
Girl B: "Wow, how soy latte of that mother(frank)er"
Guy A: "You know what, I never thought of it that way. And guess what....She DOES like soy lattes."

I felt a lot better about the Hanifin deal at first, but now I'm starting to lean toward keeping the pick.

or....
What does soy latte mean?
A latte (from the Italian caffèlatte, meaning "coffee [and] milk") is a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk. In the case of soy latte, the milk is soy milk.

Whalstrom will always be right wing. He isn't a center. I wish!
edit. I'd still happily draft him. What's wrong with a second Boeser that skates better
That’s an extremely narrow view point, anybody can play centre, he has played centre before, Quinn turned Trevor Linden a right winger into a centre. - LeftCoaster

Are you drinking in the sun again?
Very few people can play center in today's NHL, including A-prospects that have been playing the position their entire lives. It takes a player with a high IQ, and if you are undersized you need to be perfect on your position/stick or you'll get roasted which takes a long time to develop. I see Datsyuk. yes he can play center, it's going to take some time.

I'd counter realistic pov not narrow. You had to go back to Linden to find and example? It's pretty rare. Whally barely plays center. I don't care that he played a few games in highschool Folks that have spent a lot of time scouting him (not me) do not think he will play center in the NHL.

Doesn't matter, he's still worth picking as he can play on the point on the PP with a shot that good. Him and Boeser on the PP would be like Kuch/Stamkos- two lethal shots on each side. We need guys in literally every position. If EP of Wahlstrom end up being able to handle C, perfect. If not, we still need what they bring offensively. BPA! BPA! BPA!
I've never been much of a Baer fan, but the guy can be somewhat productive when healthy. I just don't see him having enough value to merit a trade. I like that he's young, but you got to be able to take the bumps or avoid them.

As I just mentioned, I was walking the dog and answered that (very poorly) on my phone. I've expanded it above. I know it's a hard position to play but if you've got good hockey IQ, skate really well and can distribute the puck you can do it.

He misses on avg about 10 games a year. Last year without the freak accident, it probably would have been about the same. His PPG has been improving yearly. If he does have a good season, sure hope he is sold and not re-signed.
