So the Sutter line was that bad when Dorsett was on it? I really don't remember that as they were doing so well. I remember the tire fires when he played with no one but AHL and ECHL players though.
- boonerbuck

Statistically he made any line worse in terms of possessing the puck and shot suppression. He's a classic dump and chase guy that works hard and so people love him. Closer inspection, not effective in his own zone at all and gives the puck up. The league is moving towards more possession/transition so the workpail dump and chase is just not good against this. I'm glad he's out and went out with a bang playing the luckiest and best hockey of his career.

Well, none of his stats suggest he was at all good at defence and/or "shut down" as opponents got more shots and puck possession when he was on the ice. He was scrappy, I get why people love that. But let's not go putting lipstick on a pig. He was scrappy, would stick up for his teammates and was a good forchecker. Nothing more.

There's going to be a giant sigh of relief out of the bookies and online betting sites if the Knights lose tonight. The pay out on long shot bets would be crippling for some.

Neem is usually fairly reasonable but I think his pure hatred for Dorsett blinds him of his assets.
Maybe I'm biased because Dorsett was my favourite Canuck.

- Marwood

This is at least somewhat fair

I think i hate in a equal measure to the way the rose-tinted love of him. He's probably somewhere between what I saw him as and what you saw.

He sucked because of where the league is going? Weird... how about the style he played while he was in the league opposed to after he retired?

He was capable at shutting down when played with the right line mates. I don't care about his collective stats to be honest.

He was a excellent forechecker. Not in his own end obviously.

5-3 Caps for the cup!

I agree that MAF, touching Wheelers ear and then Ovie tapping his pads. It's okay when the team is winning but when they are losing not allowed.

I mean if every team needs a fighter, why have the last 5-6 teams that have won not had one? I don't buy that poop at all. I guess Wilson maybe could be called that type of player, he's SOOO much better than Dorsett that it should not be a comparison.

Right. My point. You talk about where the league is going... he's gone... and how he played is irrelevant to the future. I could compare his play to what was needed in the 90's. Why would I? It's irrelevant.

35 mins of crap before they drop the puck?

One of the many reasons that I hope that Vegas loses tonight.
I hope the Caps embarrass them.

I think when Carol posts the next blog, I'll send pressy a link to *this one* and say were all in here... see how many threads behind we can get him over time. Although... if he missed the draft by 4 days because of us, he'd be pretty pissed off.

I would be very happy with Wahlstrom
- VANTEL

me too. as much as I'd like a Dman I like what wahlstrom could bring us together with boeser and EP.

watching the start to todays game, that intro was incredibly stupid and has nothing to do with hockey. 15 minutes of that crap. No other team in the nhl does that crap and even is allowed to do it.

Instead of mute, this time I left the network. They keep track of viewership and analytics.

They are doing a good job of embarrassing themselves, if I had to sit through this crap I wouldn't go to a game in Vegas.

if they want to do that do it at 430-445 not at game time!

bigger question is why was it televised? broadcasting that crap is sacrilege to our sport

It’s probably not a coincidence the team fell apart after we lost Dorsett. Heart and soul

It's trying to contend with the NFL by offering more of an "event" than just how awesome a seven game series is. it is a freaking shame, I agree.

The Canucks were on a roll and gaining momentum when the injuries hit like a tidal wave. I don't believe Dorsett being lost was the reason but the point about how the team was playing is true.

Do you watch the Canucks games with Botchford doing the colour commentating?

I think you missed the game here... he would still be in a old thread after we've moved on.
