Someone, either Kings or Hawks, almost drowned it in a lake a couple years ago. Took it out on their boat and spun a turn too tight.
There is no way that old dude follows it around 24/7 and spends the entire victory night with it, the ensuing party week, parade and each player's personal day.

I dont know, I just remember hearing Brian Burke on some podcast saying 1994 was when that guy started his job and having supervised cup visits.

Greatest player? I'll give him best goal scorer of his generation, but he's not even close to being one of the GOAT. Rah rah, he won the Cup, yay him, now go away and play for Putin in the KHL for the rest of his career.
He finally beat Crosby and the Penguins after years of trying, only because they were gassed from 2 straight Stanley Cup wins and several long playoff runs before that. I'll give him his due, he took Washington on his back (finally) and took them to the Promised Land. Hooray for him *sarcastic clapping* Knezstsov should have won the Conn Smythe, but do they give it to him? Do they give it to Holtby who took the reigns from Gruberer after Game 2 in Columbus and outdueled MAF? Do they give it to Carlsson (who's going to make huge bank this off-season because of it)? No, they give it to OV because... he's OV and you have to give it to him because it's such a great story.
So yeah, I'm salty, I hate OV, I could have cared less if LV won (only that it would have again prevented OV from winning) but he won and so... on to 2018/2019 where hopefully we never hear from OV again and Washington never gets back into the playoffs while he still plays for them.
