Fair
I’m also drunk
And they were being d!cks earlier
So screw them
I don’t start this bs
Only fire back
And that was lame - jdfitz77
Oh no
You def start this bs
we can't deal
with a guy who's living a 99 fad
down on the corner of allen and elmwood
a drunk midget bartender
who doesnt know how to socialize
or hit on the women he serves
but is instead too busy posting on a hockey forum
at all hours of the night

I have given a fair amount of thought as to the smart move for the Sabres this off-season...going back and forth in considering various options...here’s my latest thoughts...
A) retain ROR and pair him with Reinhart on line 2. Find a solid, possession LW who can move and knows how to pass well. Not sure who is available and who fits that profile. If they are successful finding him, that set up B below. This line can play the traditional 3rd line role facing off against other teams top line.
B) Mitts, Pommer and Baptiste on Line 3 playing sheltered minutes with plenty of Oz starts. Pommer brings veteran savvy, 200’ foot game to help coach Mitts and Baptiste on the ice. Allow was Mitts to find his game without undo pressure for 2019-20 season. This sets-up C...
C) ERod is Jack’s LW until they can find his permanent replacement. He has chemistry with Eichel and enough speed to keep up. Okposo, revitalized rides Jack’s RW.
D) assuming Bogo is healthy, I’d pair him with Dahlin on the 2nd pairing. Let Dahlin lose to roam, while playing with Bogo who can also move...and Bogo has a mean streak is strong physically to protect their prized rookie from being targeted by some idiot. As 2nd pairing, too much is not thrown on an 18 year old until he shows signs to take on more...let him grow into 1st pairing...if it happens fast...GREAT!
E) Scandella and Risto stay paired together for this season playing 1st pairing until Dahlin is ready to play 23-25 minutes a night.
Of course, I’m fine if they trade ROR for an overpayment this year...but he would get his 65 points or more and will retain his trade value for another year.
Dahlin
Risto

You don't pay anything close to that for someone's rights. Send the islanders, Minnesota's 4th round pick or just wait to talk to him. He's not making any decision until he hears from all suitors.

These are realistic ideas. However, the continuous, looming question remains. With essentially the same personnel, are we just going to continue to suck ass?

Sadly, change is necessary. You can't trot out the same team +Dahlin and expect great results. This team needs an infusion of probably 6 or 7 new players, all over the lineup.

They have to be 6 or 7 of the right ones, however. Botts infused new players last year, with worse results.
A change in the core needs to absolutely happen, I'm convinced of that. Imo, ROR is orchestrating his next trade, and that's fine.

You do realize that the offer i stated above may not hold weight to other offers.
Vesey was trade for a third round pick.
Tavares rights traded, I could see a first being sent.

the other 2nd is conditional on him signing. - ImThatGuy
Teams get to start talking to Tarvares a week before July 1, that in about 10 days, he'll be listening to everyone by this point being so close to a UFA, why would he not? Trading for Tarvares rights is throwing away assets.

I could see a team doing it now for a 3rd, if, if the Islanders knew 100% that he is not re-signing
