Good read Carol.
Last night was tough, but looking at the big picture I feel good about the Knights going forward. McPhee is a good GM imo. Yes the Forsberg trade was terrible and I don't agree with giving up that much for Tatar (although this one still panning out and we won't really know for a few years) but no GM hits on all moves. Obviously there's also some luck involved in draft picks, drafting OV was as much of a no brainer as it gets but the guy has eye for talent.
With all the draft picks the Knights have for the next 3 years or so I like the future. Hopefully it's a bright one. |

Makita slipped Stecher in there because he has the power to do so, I just typed Hutton
If I was running the team and could get a good deal on Sutter, considering the Canucks will once again suck next year, he'd be gone sir. - LeftCoaster
Oh sure blame me for what's typed in black, I think NorthNuck must be Stecher incognito |

lol 7th overall plus 37th overall for a guaranteed first line forward - CanuckDon
I agree with this in principle, however, it's not the same situation for every franchise. The Canucks are so void on defensive and center prospects I really think they need to make a few (2) picks in the second round to go along with that 7th overall.
And hopefully hit on a dman and a center. |

I thought you were razzing me about saying I'd take two seconds for Tanev and run a few weeks ago???
But yes I'd do that in a heartbeat!! You're a good poster! |

So the NYR blogger is putting together a mock draft, after seeing one of the Rangers fans volunteered to make the pick for the Canucks I jumped in and said "back off, you have no idea what the Canucks needs are".
Long story short, Jan told me I could represent the Canucks. So far these guys have been drafted...Rasmus Dahlin went first to Buffalo, Andrei Svechnikov to Carolina, Filip Zadina to Montreal, Noah Dobson to Ottawa and Oliver Wahlstrom to Arizona.
Detroit is up next and on the clock, what are your thoughts on who we should select and why? |

Tkachuk.
Because he will be a beast.
Put him at C.
Plus it’ll piss off a lot of people. ☺️

There are picks ahead of us and I know you are keeping the pick so it goes like this for me....
Hughes
Tkachuck
Bouchard
Boqvist... I guess.
Hughes and Tkachuck wont make it to you.

1. Buffalo - Dahlin
2. Carolina - Svechnikov (BPA)
3. Montreal - Zadina (MB out of rope. Can't not go with the consensus pick at 3)
4. Ottawa - Boqvist (to replace and hopefully make fans forget about Karlsson)
5. Arizona - Tkachuk (cause his dad told them to)
6. Detroit - Hughes ('Merica.)
7. Vancouver - Wahlstrom (cause he can really 'rip the puck' and Benning likes that)
However, I could see Ottawa taking Hughes rather than Boqvist. (He's closer to being ready to step into their lineup and they don't have any goodwill left with their fans. Their ownership won't be able to ride out a few years of losing and weak gate receipts.) If that happens then Detroit likely takes Wahlstrom and Canucks end up with Dobson. |

In that runout, Detroit probably picks Hughes so that means essentially our choices are Tkachuk (hell no) or Bouchard. I'd pick Bouchard in that case. |
