It's true, any of the players from 8 down I'd be happy with, except Hughes, even if he's super skilled, I don't trust (halflings)5 foot 7 defensemen .
- Pres.cup

Everything I’ve seen has Hughes at 5’10” 170lbs. The kid scored 0.80 points a game in his first year of college playing against older players, on NHL ice size. He’s got great mobility and an offensive mind. Van needs an offensive minded Dman.

Oh yes big time. One concussion and he is done. Can’t afford a huge bust at 7

Concussion’s aside he is the second best defence man in this draft.

How do you figure? He can’t play defense. He is a Swedish Jordan Subban

Hey now! Jordan Subban is better than his brother! PK said so, so it MUST be true!

My final top ten. Not what I think is going to happen. Put it in the book.

Dahlin
Svechnikov
Wahlstrom
Zadina
Kravtsov
Kotkoniemi
Boqvist
Tkachuk
Dobson
Hughes

- thundachunk

Pretty accurate list...think Tkachuk might go a bit higher.

I always knew you were an oilers fan 😡🤮
- CanuckDon

I'll take the 5foot 11.5 inch 160 pound guy who out bench pressed bouchard and has the best shot(from d) over the safe, solid 3 to 5 ceiling, safe player.

I see you like Dobson? Is your favorite color beige? Favorite ice cream vanilla?

Racist

Plays better defense then bouchard or Hughes.
Has a better shot then all of the defensemen out of all big D.
Better skater then all of them except for Hughes.
Better on ice vision then all of them except bouchard.

Yeah, I'll take a swing at the home run instead of bunting for a single, but enjoy the warm cozy feeling of a safe pick.

Where did he finish in the bench? Not top 10. It’s 50% of your body weight so who gives a (frank). I could bench 80 pounds 100 times. Should I be drafted? He is a runt with concussions. And how can emphatically state that he has the best shot? Did you take a radar gun and compare all the top D prospects slap shots? He has a nice snap shot. Lots of kids have nice snap shots

Two can play this game. Dobson has the best IQ and he also the greatest intangibles. Most scouts think he has the best back hand in the world outside of maybe Crosby. There you are, a nice accurate and detailed Pres Cup scouting report. I’m confident you have never watched boqvist play so this is a waste of time argument. As you were

Edit. Dobson is better at sit-ups than boqvist as well. Generational crunches scouts are saying

T hell with ovi carol, I am more excited about brett connoly a home grown PG boy whom a very good friend of mine coached him through minor hockey and brett keeps in touch with him to this very day looking for advice. The cup is coming to PG. He assisted on the winning goal!

Biggest actual draft busts meaning they really have never played in the nhl from 07-12 top 10 picks
Hamill pick 8
Filatov pick 6
Glennie pick 8
Reinhart pick 4
McIlrath pick 10

I know people like to say that Nail Yakupov is a huge bust. Not exactly what you hope for drafting 1st overall. In the end he is still 9th in scoring in his draft. It's a crap shoot. Pick 1 to the last pick. No one really has any idea how a player is going to turn out.

I would certainly be making the pick at 7 rather then trading it away for Hanifin.

No worries, the oilers will take him and thrust him into the nhl as a 18 year old.

Good read Carol.

Last night was tough, but looking at the big picture I feel good about the Knights going forward. McPhee is a good GM imo. Yes the Forsberg trade was terrible and I don't agree with giving up that much for Tatar (although this one still panning out and we won't really know for a few years) but no GM hits on all moves. Obviously there's also some luck involved in draft picks, drafting OV was as much of a no brainer as it gets but the guy has eye for talent.

With all the draft picks the Knights have for the next 3 years or so I like the future. Hopefully it's a bright one.

Gifts from uncle gary, put it this way if Quebec city was awarded a franchise instead of vegas poor management would be put in place and tougher rules would apply.

I wonder how teams view Veleno. Tale of two teams.
A ppg player in Saint Johns for two seasons

Or the just under a 1.5 ppg player in Drummondville. If he played entire season at Drummondville pace. That would have been 96 points in 66 games.

Just short of PLD pace of 99 in 62.

I wouldn't hate this pick. I'd like to move down to get him though

I wouldn't hate any of the top 15 picks. Just trade down if JB feels he can. All of them bring something different. None of them seem to lack anything too much not to be picked.
