They only have 1 winger who does deserve to be top-6. Adding 3 is a lot to ask. I'm in full favor of bringing in some vets to compete. Pouliot deals and/or tryout contracts...anything to add to the competition to make this team.

Bailey had a crack at it and definitely fits the mold of a guy you'd want with Eichel. Baptiste is too big of a defensive liability to play with Jack. Hopefully they step up, but it's really on them to earn it. I think they both showed up at camp last year feeling entitled to a roster spot, then got outplayed by AHL guys. They have a ton to prove this year.

Others however weren’t ranked 2nd and 3rd all time in the two stats most regarded when talking about Recievers. Others have gotten in the hall in their first year of eligibility on a lot less. How Pat Bowlen isn’t in the hall of fame is beyond me. 4 losing seasons in 30+ years isn’t good enough I guess.

Welp, how about we consider, just for second that the world isn’t fair..the Hall is made up of humans who are imperfect and hold grudges. Right, wrong or indifferent...it is what it is.

Been a long time since there's been a game, but the biggest thing I look at is who looks at fault when they give up a good opportunity. On the flip side, strong defensive plays stick out. When Baptiste plays up in the lineup, I thought he got exposed. Just my opinion of course. Objectively, corsi tells a story and ice time, zone starts, matchups, and penalty killing give you an idea of what the coaches think.

I feel the same about Bailey... Just because he's from Buffalo and is a little faster doesn't mean he's better than Baptiste. If anything I believe Baptiste is further along then Bailey
