If Eichel takes the next step and records a 75+ point season which is fully possible in year 3 if he plays a full season. ROR gives you his annual 55 point campaign. And Mitts gives you 50 on the third line you have a damn good team. How many other teams have 3 50+ point centres ? Dahlin at the very least is top 4 d-man quality year 1. Risto will get less minutes and better matchups. You have McCabe and Bogosian and Pilut entering the defense corps that you didn’t have last season including Nelson and Guhle who will continue to improve. If Botts can add a scoring left winger and a goalie then we are at the very least playing meaningful hockey into March. - Pegullaville

Kid is ready to take the next step. Had a great year. St. Louis is willing to wheel and deal? Then make the call, Botts. - Powerslave
I’ve been saying this for months it’s a perfect trade
We get an all star winger they get their center for the second line
If we somehow can get Barbashev out of the deal that would be incredible |

Barbashev is who I wanted over that slug, Lemieux. |

Where does he get said LWer, though? Free agency is a joke nowadays. So, who are we trading? - Powerslave
I'd take James Neal or JVR in UFA at LW but besides them... yuck is right.
Maybe Vanek on a 1 year deal to plug 2nd or 3rd line. (trade at deadline if needed) |

I liked Barbashev in the draft too but he has looked about as good as Nylander has in the AHL and the NHL.[/img] |

Does any smart GM trade their 1LW for a 2C though??? I don't see it. Jaskin and Berglund are not 1LW and 2LW on a playoff team. |

That's too bad. Maybe he needs a change of scenery, perhaps? 😉 |

Nylander becoming the player we hoped for when we drafted him would be nice. Dark horses are Olofsson, Pu, Asplund (if he starts on the wing). My suggestion would be dealing one of Baptiste, Bailey (or both) and the SJS 1st rounder. Should be able to bring back a winger worth a poop. |

After Schenn, their depth chart at center is Brodziak and Sobotka.

having all those guys is good and i would love for them to make the leap to the nhl.. but they aren't 1LW material right out of the gate.. we need to get at least 1 quality LW somewhere.. and it is going to cost us something most likely on the roster |

Is center not my important position in the game ?
They have no one a center that can replace Paul Stastny you should look They will be desperate to do that trade

I'd do that trade. Not sure if the Sabres would have to add though |

It seems much too good to be true. Two teams tailor made for a trade right here. |

They are pretty comparable. ROR has a lot more PP points but a lot more point share than Schwartz.
I tend to think that Schwartz is maxed out? A 22-30 goal guy and 55-60 pts? Making 5.35M for 3 more years. |

Honestly, it seems pretty fair as a straight hockey trade |
