I think you just missed the entire point I was making. - Lunaion
Your point has no relevance when a 6 game rookie is eating up minutes and making rookie mistakes, hitting a college rookie wall at 40+ games and can't play the 200 ft game like Eichel can't yet. But go on... |

Colorado and New Jersey and Phillydidn’t seem to have much of a problem making the playoffs with Kerfoot, Hischer, and Patrick as top 6 Centres on their respective teams. One of those players being an undrafted free agent. - Pegullaville
Carl Soderberg, Travis Zajak and Sean Couturier. All guys protecting Hischier, Patrick and Kerfoot. |

Zajak was hurt practically the full season. Couturier was the first line Centre (Jack Eichel nice to meet ya), and Soderberg is average at best. What I’m saying is you can sign a Bozak or Riley Nash if you have too but Mitts as your second line Centre wouldn’t kill us. The Isles didn’t miss the playoffs because Barzal was Their 2nd line Centre. |

Fine, Giroux AND Couturier. yes, Soderberg is average, but he takes a ton of dzone minutes away from the offense-first guys.
You need guys that can take quality defensive minutes in place of 19 year old rookies that got here because of their offensive ability. Jack's going into year 4 and is still not a proficient 200' player. He is improving every year, however.
I'm telling you, those types of players deserve more credit than they're given. |

I'll take it.
I do think Guhle has a higher ceiling than McCabe and is more future 2nd pairing but McCabe has a lot more experience and is better slotted next to Dahlin to start.
I think that Guhle, PilutBorgen, and Nelson will make McCabe and his 1.9M contract for a 3 year player a trade commodity.
I always am looking to pair McCabe and Nylander/Bailey/Baptiste as if it was Leopold and Ennis in 2014. |

If they're a Sabre, they're not worth having, until they're on another team, then they need to be idolized.
I really like Erod. I don't think he's ready to anchor the bottom 6 though. |

Do your own research... I was simply stating what the teams starting lines were by the end of the year.
Man... Kerfoot and Butcher... wish we would have gotten one of them. Or not traded Compher.
A 3rd line of Asplund-Compher-Pommer would be pretty sweet. |

Even if they were able to make a deal for a RHD for O'Reilly, like Hamilton (i know it's not gonna happen, but bear with me), I would STILL keep Risto for the second pair.
Dahlin-Hamilton
Scandella-Risto
Guhle-Bogo
Nelson
McCabe
We need more than 2 defensemen. 4 would be great. Cannot move Risto without an equal or better RHD coming back imo. Just can't. |
