If the pens had the space kunitz and voynov would be my two main targets. Obviously, someone like Sheary would need moved. But, this lineup would look pretty nice.
Guentzel, Sid, Sprong
Hags, Malkin, Hornquist
Rust, Brassard, Kessel
Kunitz, Sheahan, ZAR
Don't care?
Dumo, Letang
Maata, Schultz
Oleksiak, Voynov
Don't care? - cranktheradio
Not sold on Voyonov, but my son said he is worth a look. A ton of baggage though. I would CERTAINLY call Cole up to see if he would be interested in getting his jersey back.
Other than that, I like the lineup. |

Yeah lets get the bum who beat the crap out of his wife and got deported! - sammy87
Seriously, right? Enough hockey fans make up bullpoop reasons to hate the Pens, they need to give them a real reason? Lol |

Cole's just going to cost way too much. Voynov the player s going to come extremely affordable because voynov the man is an idiot. |

Not saying what voynov did was ok in any means but not many in here cared about desmith playing for the penguins... After throwing his ex to the ground and punching and spitting on her... she did end up with a black eye from that night...he also was charged with resisting arrest. He also kind of went the same route as what voynov did and agreed to diversion and counselling to avoid jail time and criminal record. He just wasn’t Russian so they couldn’t deport him. |

Letting Kunitz go made sense to me at the time. We needed to save some cap for Cullen and $2M would have been a lot for a 4th liner. Plus I really think it made sense for JR to not have too many 35+ guys on the roster.
Bringing him back this year could make a little sense but I am always wearing of the "getting the band back together" mindset. If he ends up blocking a talented young player like Sprong, its not worth it.
Oh and of course, he was a whipping boy for 2 years here so I wonder how long it would take for ppl to turn on him and his lack of hands again :-D - YouMeAndDupuis9
Funny he’s the whipping boy when Hagelin makes four mill to be worse than Conner Sheary. |

Wow didn't know that. Not sure of the details but how can charges be dismissed if he pleads guilty? This article sounds like it was more serious to resist arrest than assault a female. Still, not sure how he got a Guernsey with the Pens although if the charges were dropped??
I wouldn't compare It to Voynov though, not even close. |

What Voynov did was totally different. He kicked her in the head after she fell down from him punching her. He choked her to the point where she had bruises on her neck.
Spousal abuse is never okay for any reasons, but there are degrees of it. What Voynov did is more egregious than your standard spousal abuse case. |

Pittsburgh's line up is still a contender. There are two directions this team needs to go when they do make changes. 1. Get younger (9th oldest) 2. Get bigger (16th) |

Agreed and mostly agreed.
I don't think they need to add a bunch of hulking fowards, but they do need to get some guys who can throw the body and hold their ground. Kunitz would help in that regard. |

Definitely keep getting younger. And to your second point I would say to just keep and identity. As long as you keep and identity it gives you a better chance for success. |

That article describes all the standard punishments of anybody who gets an underage or disorderly in college (probation, community service, alcohol counseling), and tries to make it look like he made a plea deal to get out of an assault conviction.
But, it never actually says he was charged with assault in the first place. Just 2 disorderly charges and resisting arrest. Desmith pleaded not guilty on all charges except the 1 disorderly.
They found that his ex made up what happened, changed her story multiple times and showed no signs of physical abuse. His family considered a lawsuit against the publication of the first article because of how much it misrepresented in the case.
