Yes to this trade assuming Patches is signed longer term. I have been occasionally beating the ROR for Drouin trade (straight up) for about 6 weeks. I like your thinking on this one. - SabreWest
I don't see the habs trading for drouin, and shipping him out next season
kind of like, to a lesser extent, I do not see botts trading scandella this summer |

Defenseman play more minutes and have a bigger impact on the game as well in my opinion. - Pegullaville
this is why I want to add on D instead of moving on from risto
get another minute eater and ride 3 d men for most of the game |

Yes what I said.
Call him whatever you like.
it doesn't change the fact that he is one of the best D prospects to come out in 20 years. |

Okay Gerbe probbaly could of clarified what he meant by the 32 pick basically being a 1st rounder this year but I understand his premise. We all know it’s a second round pick. But if you were to survey NHL Central Scouting and other Draftniks alike they would tell you that any player being drafted in the 17-40 range are not really differentiated much between one or the other. A team might select a player at 32 that they might have selected at 20 if they had the pick. It’s a good draft with first round “talent” being available in the second round. |

This makes it a 2nd round pick. He is wrong, and if you're arguing for him and on his side, may God have mercy on your soul. |

By this logic, then 2nd round talent is in the first round.
You can't have 1st round talent in the second round unless lower round talent is in the first round
Unless every pick is basically a first, which I have heard rumors of |

My point is one guy isn't going to turn that dumpster fire of a team around in one year. So some people need to pump the brakes before they start planning the parade in downtown Buffalo next June.

Without going through a number of reasons I don't see this happening I'll go with the saddest reason:
Xenophobia
Drouin isn't going anywhere because he's french. There's many other reasons but that's the easiest starting point - Takemedrunkimhome
We're not Xenophobic here. We are, however, MapleLeafophobic |

Lehner is minimum $4MM.

Also if you are talking about the Pens they won their first one with only 4 top 5 picks. So you are even closer! |

I have not heard any mention of a Stanley Cup at all in this blog or any others, is it so bad for us as Sabre fans to be excited about getting Dahlin.
I don't think any hockey person would say Dahlin doesn't start in the NHL next year, hes a very good player and we don't have many of those its exciting, no one is planning a parade. |

Allen is signed for next 3 years at $4.35MM per. EDIT: Late
But I would like that deal. Just want Lehner gone, maybe I want Allen gone next summer, but just care about today's problems, haha. (I dont want Allen much at all, but stats look ok). |
