Yeah, it's hell one day per year. It's a 4-day festival of hippies and hipsters camping out and listening to obscure indie bands (with exceptions for headliners) that no one actually likes. These unwashed flower children clog up my commute and make me late because Delaware does not have the road capacity to successfully have such a large concert. I've also been going through Delaware on race day, and it's basically the same thing, you just replace all of the hybrid cars with diesel trucks. - jmatchett383
Delaware does not have the road capacity to handle their Summer shore traffic.
They don't deserve to have a shore front. Really, that whole state should have just been carved up and divided among PA, NJ, and MD. |

So expect the same offseason as the last four. Who will be the Jori Weiseburger of this summer?? - SuperSchennBros
Just for you re-sign Valtteri Filppula |

Actually, a Frankenstein monster of Jori Lehtera, Dale Weise, and latter day RJ Umberger would be probably be a pretty good hockey player.
Isn't there someone here good with the Dark Arts that could make this happen? - johndewar
Jori Weiseburger. Didn't I just say this? Did I forget that he would have Filppula's blond beautiful hair? |

What are the thoughts on Serron Noel? Big kid. Decent offensive numbers. Some mock drafts have us picking him up at 19.
A lot of mock drafts have is trading the 14th puck to Dallas. |

He's a polarizing player. Some people are really excited about his potential, others don't think he'll put it together as a pro. He's really inconsistent, but he has the size/talent. Doesn't have a great "motor" and doesn't always use his size advantage as much as you'd like to see him to.
This is what I've read from people who have seen him play at least multiple times. |

You did! I tagged up on that thought. And adding Flip's hair does make this Frankenstein hockey player a veritable skating League of Nations.

Like Noel, don’t love him. Wouldn’t take him in the top 20, but if they traded down and had a pick in the 25-30 range, he’d be a guy I’d consider. Haven’t seen a lot of him but he really didn’t seem to do anything particular impressive when I did see him and many scouts seem to be questioning his overall hockey sense. He would definitely be a long term project much like Morin |

I like him but I wouldn't be thrilled with the pick as I think there will be better players available at 19. If they move down and take him then so be it. |

All- Having just moved to the Dover, DE area 2 years ago, I echo everyone's sentiments. Unfortunately, I will be taking my 13 yo daughter to Firefly tomorrow. Pray for me.
Did we ever confirm that the Schenn's were indeed Canadian? Brayden broke out a little this year but Luke is still struggling. He would skate with the puck to the Zamboni corner and just give it away. Every time...
In terms of UFA, have we discussed Nick Holden? Bos currently paying him 1.5 or so per year. 31 years old, RD. I might not mind that for 2-3 years. |

Could do worse, but wouldn't crack my top 6 (depending on how Gudas plays). I think he could get an actual top 6 job elsewhere so... |

I kind of always shake my head when I see people preach for a cause because of the simple fact that most people do not get active for a cause until it directly affects them or someone close to them. I dont think Carcillo gives a poop about anyone else but himself. |

Dont get me wrong there are some good people out there that do it for the common good but not many. Humans are selfish. We dont really do much if we dont get something out of it. One thing that determines how good of a person you are is if you are willing to do something good when it is inconvenient. Being kind when it is convenient is easy. Doing good when you would rather be selfish is what separates people. |

What about this. I know it might look bad but hear me out.
To Edmonton: Simmonds and Vecchione
To Philadelphia: 10 and Lucic
Yes Lucic has 5 more years at 6 million but basically it's like resigning Simmonds in a way. You also still have a big body, physical presence and probably a super motivated player after a down year. Edmonton wants to move him to free up space. They also get a solid player in Simmonds to replace Lucic and a bottom 6 guy in Vecchione. The price is the 10th pick for the Flyers to take on the Lucic deal.
Now Flyers pick at 10, 14 and 19. That's plenty of ammo to move up, stay and take best player available or even get a youngish NHL vet. You could even trade back and get even more assets like early 2nd round picks.
Does it work or is the Lucic deal just too bad to want to play with. For me I don't see it as that bad as i think that is where Simmonds will end up resigning around. - J35Bacher

I've had conversations about this with friends before. I largely agree on this assessment. Though, I'm not sure Dan Carcillo fits into this. Future players are the main beneficiary, and I don't see that he is exactly looking for fame and recognition for his activism (like some people do for other causes). |
