Not huge, but IMO significant.
Ehlers was the one top 6 guy left off of there great PP1 with Schiefele and Laine.
If he was on that unit he would have had 65-75 points last two years instead of 60.
He scores 20+ at EV too last two years. - sbroads24
I know u love that stat...
but the Jets are so much better than us
Of course they’re gonna score more 5v5
It’s just not a stat i feel is comparable between 2 teams
Especially when 1 team is really good, and the other is really bad |

Nope, already proved GMTM's case beyond a reasonable doubt. I got GMTM acquitted. |

Seems like it would be hard to prove, but I wouldn't doubt it. No one on this team knows how to pass a (frank)ing puck. Transition game is horrid. No one can hold onto the puck either. There's too many variables as to why we suck Richard. - TheSabresTaco
Without doing the actual research again, looking at the newly acquired D men (Scandella, Bealieu) they generated less shots/goals/points per 60 than when they did in Minny/MTL.

Sure, but Reinhart has played with Eichel mostly for 3 years at EV and PP.
That's absolutely comparable to Ehlers situation |

I bet the vultures are circling. It wouldn't surprise me at all in more than a few GMs have low-ball offers in |

That's kind of why I wanted multiple changes.
The players we have here on a 31st place team are actually worse than there reputation, which is astounding |

Not surprised. Worse teams = less goals and less possession to make plays with
Beau sucks, Scandella was never really "that" guy either as far as point production. Even before the emergence of Dumba that moved him down the depth chart, when he was getting 20+mins a night, he was scoring 20pts or so a year.
Funny looking at his season totals I'm surprised that his per 60 aren't similar to last year because overall (with the extra minutes) he produced significantly more than last both in shots and points. |

Jets also had a 2nd great line though too,
so I’m guessing there were more times when they got better matchups
And a much better defense,
esp at getting the puck up ice too
Just don’t think it’s as simple as Sam played with 1 really good player
Ehlers was likely on the ice with 4 or 5 good players almost all the time |

I honestly and truly believe that we bring in some more culture-centric players, even in bottom 9 roles, this team turns a corner. But we need a 50% turnover from the 16-17 opening roster, including the exodus of OR. All you hear about the guy is that he's poison. |

Sam's career stats are heavily padded by opportunities he would not have gotten on a better team. I don't think that's debatable.

He wouldn’t have played in the top6 for the Jets bc they have Laine & Wheeler at RW
But if u swapped him for 1 of them,
I think he’d have similar stats to Ehlers |

Only reason to buy him out is if there's legit NHL interest in him. Send him off, give him a chance to play in the NHL before he retires or goes to a lesser league. It's a good will gesture that the player, and others observing, would appreciate a lot. >700k would be on the cap next year, which is negligible at this point. - TheSabresTaco
However, there is a big danger that moulson (or any other player traded away) will tell his new team all of our secret plays and the behind the scenes stuff. Sometimes it’s worth keeping those plays hidden from other teams who would want to capitalize on them or steal them.
