The Kings were playing him almost right away
And it didn’t take long for them to even use him paired with Doughty at times
I sure would’ve liked to at least see him play for us more before Murray dumped him, but i guess he just didn’t like him for some reason

Revisionist history. He was so good for the Kings they didn't protect him. Just because McNabb developed for Vegas, doesn't mean he'd work out for Buffalo. I did like McNabb, sucks it didn't work out here.

apparently he didn't like defense.. he traded away Myers, McNabb and Zadorov.. they were at the time a top 2 dman on the team and the two best d prospects we had.. he killed the teams d and never re-addressed it.. oh and he traded Piss boy as well

In his defense, he had to trade Myers to get Kane & Zadorov to get O’Reilly
The problem was that every defenseman he brought in sucked
The McNabb thing especially didn’t make sense to me bc it left us with no NHL ready depth to bring up when Bogo got hurt, etc
And then,
he pretty much ignored defense in his drafts, at least early on
I wanna say he had something like 17 picks in the 1st & 2nd round- and only used 1 of them on a defenseman
That always blew my mind

Pretty sure summer is more than a week. Plus this is how it is in the offseason of the NHL every year. The next month should see some movement in terms of trades and then UFA signings. Things then tail off for the most part until training camp. You'll get the occasional UFA signing in between there, but that's about it. Every. Single. Year.

Tough to see why he’d leave all that $$$ on the table
I’m sure a team will offer him at least 7mil per for 7yrs

People don't realize (not directing at you, just the casual fan) how much input the players agent, and union have on contracts.

It's in there best interest to squeeze the most $ and term out of any deal they can
