Gee, for some reason that line up doesn't scream 'Stanley cup Champs' to me. Some no names and 3 million for Kap? Lilybust is already a top 4? Have you seen him play? Was at a Marlies game and he looked small (got rocked a few times on the end boards) and doesn't seem strong on defense... (see Gardiner)... - Hockey_Reverend
Ya Lilybust didnt look good yesterday and from the games Ive seen this year, he's been meh.
But im no expert. |

Yeah. All the games were on TSN or Leafs TV. - GreatGigInTheSky

You had to upgrade to get that included.
No idea why.

Well, the EITHER DERMOTT OR LILJERGREN, OR JOHNSSON OR GRUNDSTROM stuff was pretty dumb.
All 4 of those guys + Kapanen look like they should be NHLers. 4 of them could be full-time this season, with Liljergren getting the Dermott treatment as well. - Feeling Glucky?
Lili needs another season in the AHL.
We already know Johnsson and Dermott will be with the big club.
Grundstrom could see 4th line mins. The line of Johnsson Altonen and Grundsrom looked good. |

His point was not the specific names... it was just plugging the most likely Marlie names into a scenario we could typically expect.
We all know there are 4 or 5 Marlies that are candidates to have a decent NHL career but probably only a couple will - Aetherial
Based on history, usually only 2- 4 players from calder cup winning teams make the NHL.
But
In the case of the Marlies...we already know of 2 who will be NHL'ers. Dermott and Johnson...how many games they play in total? No clue.
But we could see others play in the NHL...how many total games will they play....no one knows right now.

That only one of Dermott and Lillybust, and only one of Johnsson and Grundstrom play over 200 NHL games? - walshyleafsfan
personally I think Dermott and Liljegren will be nhl regulars (looking back 5years from now) and will surely play over 200games in NHL in their careers.
Both Johnsson and Grundstrom can go either way though, easily could have a career like Matt Fratting (who played 135 regular season games and 6 playoff games in NHL) instead of playing over 200games in NHL. |

basically, he either needed to be fired or named the greatest depending on the game 7 result.
so greatest it is. |

Dubas is the first GM to win a hockey championship in over 50 years, so the obvious answer is yes.. A resounding, yes.. |

He's got the size, moves decently, has some scoring touch and seems to get involved in the play. It would be good to see someone unexpected make an impact - Aetherial
I agree, size and grit are seriously lacking on the big club, and have seen enough of Leivo to believe, there are better alternatives internally at LW. |

i doubt he's much more than a 4th liner.
seems like he made rychel expendable, so he may get a chance. |

I guess you could argue that a Goalie or Quarterback could make a whole team. It just seems somehow more annoying in the NBA. Maybe it is because you don't have to find a generational talent at a specific position, like Price or Brady. - Aetherial
A goalie can only do so much and the same with a QB. A QB is only on the field for half the game. I agree with your basketball assessment. Especially the part where in the final minutes of a game both teams all of a sudden start playing. |

Reports keep coming out saying Tavares looks like he wont make it to the free agency discussion window. Dont get why he wouldnt wait at this point. No one really thought he'd leave, but I hope he lets us have a bit of fun and doesnt sign until after the discussion window opens. |

We want him to pull a Stamkos?
Naw... Eff that, I want him to pull a Lebron.. Hold a press conference, and say "I'm taking my talents to the 416" and then immediately walk out with both middle fingers raised in the air. |

For the life of me I have no idea why he wants to remain with the Islanders to begin with, I hope he doesn't actually believe in his head they will win anytime in his career. Even with Lou there its likely to be a long road. |
