So you're going ROR for Patches straight up? I would like to think we'd get more than an expiring contract |

3 30 goal seasons in his career compared to a player who is 29 and has done it 5 times while playing with no one of talent. Please, dont compare the two. - Mentalorgasm5
I’m just answering where you said we never traded for one which we did
It makes zero sense to trade for a guy that’s going to be 30 and then we have to pay this guy 7.5 or 8m when his play could be decreasing by the time we’re in the playoffs now you have another molasses , Kyle on your roster eating money
And I’m not saying he’s a bum he’s just not the right fit |

I don't disagree there but comparing what he has done to what Reinhart has done is just a bad comparison. I don't think anyone who gets the Majority of their points from Assists should be highly regarded but he is young and has room for improvement. And yes there is a chance he could score more goals with a center like Eichel and is a need as a LW but I wouldn't have traded anything significant to acquire him. Plus I think Eichel is more of a pass first type of player so getting a sniper is more important than a play-maker. - Sabrehagan
I think of Eichel as a puck holding guy, rather than the typical shoot first or pass first guy. I think we've seen that his style is awkward for a lot of guys to play with. I want someone who can get to the net, and has the hands to finish. I'm still holding out a little hope for Tkachuk.

That's kind of the beauty of Eichel. He can do a bit of everything. I'm hoping Botterill uses this off-season to build a line identity for him. He coming off a season where, in his third year, his wingers were girgs and Pominville. That's unacceptable going into year 4 |

One of the best things GMTM did was not give ROR any type of NTC or NMC. Those tend to mess with any return we would get for him. For example, according to most, Mike Hoffman NEEDS to be traded from Ottawa ASAP and the fact that he has a 10 team No-Trade list it will make him even more difficult to trade, especially given his current situation. |

FWIW, if indeed Montreal decides to push on ROR, Galchenyuk gone doesn't do anything from a Buffalo point of view. Sabres would be looking for a different mix of assets.

And what exactly does Montreal have that a division rival would trade a Top 2 center, 1C on Montreal besides the 3OA pick? |

Agreed 100%. A younger Pomminville and Girgs with hands....I don't think he has the right guys in the organization right now. |

Galchenyuk is actually the comparable to Sam.
Both high picks who haven’t become stars, get bounced from wing to center back to wing. Both look like 50-55 point players at their peaks |

Subban for Weber
Trading two 2nd round pick for Shaw
Signing Alzner
Letting Radulov and Markov walk for Nothing
Sergachev for Drouin
Galchenyuk for Domi
Hopefully we make this list when they give us the 3rd overall pick |

If you must trade O'Reilly. How about O'Reilly and Larrson for 3 OA . But you need to get a 2C ( Maybe Stastny ) in Free Agency as pushing Middlestat to 2C too early is a big mistake . He needs to play sheltered minutes . Pushing him into 2C too soon could seriously harm his development. Needs to start at 3c or on Eichel's wing. |

At least we'd know he wasn't leeching off a better player. He's their best player and has been since PK left and has been their best forward for like ever. |
