He was the main piece to get Mike Richards how he was valued around the league

so 2 young unproven forwards at the time but a lot of potential and a 2nd round pick?

Simmonds was just off his ELC and was a 35 point player
Schenn only played 9 NHL games prior to be traded but was a Top 5 pick

I mean its not a lot compared to the comments of ROR would need the 3rd overall pick from Montreal talk that I have come across on the interweb

Im not arguing that he wasn't a good prospect but you re trying to claim that he was the best prospect in the NHL at the time, which he never was.

It would be like claiming Elias Pettersson is the best prospect in hockey right now right before Dahlin is drafted.

A number 3 overall compared to a former 5th overall 2 years after he is drafted are a bit different. Not crazy different but trading a top pick for a team to take their own guy vs a guy already drafted and who wasn't able to stick with the team twice before before traded. There is a bit of a perceived value difference, as a GM wouldnt you want to be able to pick your own guy with a pure Top 5 pick?

And it’s not like he’s regressed at all
As far as i remember,
he was still extremely highly thought of

Probably at least in the same ballpark as Zadina

And of u take into account that MTLs GM is trying to win now to save his job...
and that it’s thought they will “reach” for a center if they keep the pick...
And that Kotkamniemi (sp?) won’t be ready to help them much this year, if at all...

I’d say #3 is at least a possibility

Domi is good.

If Domi is a third liner, Reinhart is too. They're totally different players. Domi has double the primary assists per 60, Reinhart has double the goals. If Domi played with Eichel, Eichel would score 40 imo

Ppl are downgrading him bc of his lack of goal scoring

It’s a justifiable black mark on his progress,
and at least calls into question whether or not he can reach a ceiling where he’s a 25 goal scorer

It’s fair for ppl to be worried about his potential at this point

They didn't want a repeat of recent years. They want to go back to it being the hardest tournament with the winner being lucky to break par for the week. Today seems like a bit of an overreaction compared to Thursday and Friday though.
