ROR also led all forwards in average ice time with over 23 minutes no ? Skinner plays like what 17 minutes a night ? The extra 6 minutes a game factors out to an additional 8.2 games a year that ROR plays over Skinner. Skinner would of had another 6-7 points if he played the same amount of minutes that ROR did so really the trade off is 3 points instead of 10. Skinner also is a much faster player and would play on Eichel’s wing which would garner more points then playing with Staal or Rask would. - Pegullaville
Oh, so we're going to talk in potential and not resumes, (would've, could've, should'ves…) With this logic we should just trade for Ennis back, because he skates like the wind, can stick handle in a phonebooth, and would have a million points on Eichel's wing. |

To add: Skinner is a sniper and suffers with less offensively inclined linemates. So does Eichel. Eichel makes them better, and a player of Skinner's ilk can and will increase his value playing next to a player like Eichel. |

Of those 23 ATOI of ROR's I bet 17 of them is in the DZone and neutral zone taking every faceoff. |

What about Skinner becoming an UFA next year? You get 1 year for 5 years? That is the epitome of stupid if you don't re-sign him. - GilPerreault11
Also forgetting the fact that O’Reilly has cement skates as it is now. I give him two-three more years tops before he becomes Chris Drury NYR edition and a team can’t buy him out due to the structure of his contract. |

People on this blog say ROR stinks and his attitude is bad and he's overpaid but yet they throw out all these ridiculous trade offers for the other teams best players. - SABRES 89

hes a very good 2nd line center.
but I have to dispel a lot of these notions that he is physical, tough, fast.
he also does have a s(* attitude.
I hope someone overpays for him. |

Most of his point production is also virtue of power play.... so why not sign Riley Nash or Bozak that could do the same thing ? Skinner can score 30 on Eichel’s wing and take over his power play minutes. |

Your attitude would suck too if you were on a team of losers every year, that's the going rate for a player like him. Moving him and putting Casey as 2nd line Center is a bad idea, kid isn't ready yet. However, there is more to the story................. |

Skinner would be better with Eichel, no doubt. The question is whether his one-dimensional goal scoring is worth O'Reilly who can play in any situation.
I think if Botterill thought that Skinner for ROR was a good deal, it would already be done though. |

I just don't buy this. ROR admitted that even before the season started he didn't feel up to playing hockey.
He is part of the problem, a big part of it. |

ROR literally JUST turned 27 a few months ago.
Drury was 31 when he went to NYR and put up 146 pts in his 1st 3 years there. Then injuries ended his career his 4th year.

He's an old 27, which is basically 32
Skinner is a young 26, which is basically a prime 23

I feel like I've been in the minority on here that continuously pines for a defensive minded center to come in here to protect CM. It needs to happen if (when) he is traded. CM will not be able to handle full-time 2C duties, along with dzone play, pk and faceoffs. |
