Jesus too.
Remember even before he played a game for the Oilers they were talking about he was bolting at the end of his ELC. Somehow. - Wetbandit1
I still think Matthews is gonna do just that |

I don't see any contract that Toronto wouldn't automatically match. |

This "one scout" (aka a butthurt leafs fan) can (frank) off.
Dahlin's ours. Sucks to suck. You're not going to ruin this by speculating that the #2 pick somehow is better than "the best defensive prospect in the last quarter of a century." - feetontheair22
Dahlin Tier
Svech Tier
Everyone else
It’s not a knock at Dahlin, just the fact that Svechnikov is a pretty damn good prospect too. Just like how McDavid was a clear #1 and Eichel was a clear #2 in their draft year. Don’t know why everyone is so butt hurt. |

Yes I guarantee you the Arizona Coyotes will send him an offer sheet that will pay him more than Connor McDavid |

No. Toronto has the final say on whether to match or not. |

Sitting through the 6 hour driver safety course is worth the amount of insurance reduction, true or false? |

We are talking about an OS, right?
The currengg team has the final decision Kk thought...match the offer so the player stays, or let the player go and take the compensation.
Player's decision is to sign the IS or not, once signed the team then makes It's decision.
Am I wrong here? |

I am doing it online, but it times you, and you have to complete it within 5 days of starting. It's kind of torturous. |

I'm not really familiar with OS/end of an ELC |

I believe the process I laid out is accurate for all OS situations, irrespective of current contract type. |

It's the team's decision. They'd have no leverage to keep their players otherwise. |

Last time I did it, it was in person and cost like $50, but the ticket was only $60, so it kind of evened out. Clarence apparently isn't all that hard up for revenue. |

So in theory when Matthew's ELC runs out his only real leverage to get outta Tronna would be to threaten to just not play? |

Pretty much. That's why Trouba held out and refused to sign his deal. There was no offer sheet, he just refused to sign a deal. |
