I do not believe Hayton would drop that far

in fact if he did drop that far I would hope the Rangers would trade up to grab him

Yeah, Hayton is an absolute steal at that spot.

He'll probably go in the 15-20 range.

He's a real good player. Really high hockey IQ, great shot, good leader and all situational player. The reason why he drops in a mock draft like this is because he doesn't have that sizzle like a lot of these other players have, particularly with respect to his skating. But, teams will value him more than us laymens will.

Yeah, they simply weren't going to get good value for him, and they obviously had to trade him.

Figured they would send Hoffman to a team in the west.

Maybe Colorado ends up picking fourth this year. The thing is, I am not sure Ottawa wants to play next year with that hammer over their head, so I don't think it's impossible that they give the pick to Colorado. Unlikely, but not impossible.

Seen that idea mentioned a lot lately. Enables Ottawa to totally start a new with nothing hanging over their head.

Yeah, it's a complete mess up there. They need to do some positive PR campaign to at least calm the fan base. I think they HAVE to trade the pick to Colorado this year. If they trade Karlsson this year too, they're not going to win 20 games next year.

And if they trade Karlsson, you know some picks are coming back, so that will lessen the impact a little of losing number 4. It's crazy to think about giving up the fourth pick this year, but it maybe in their best interests. The problem is, if Montreal goes off the board and Zadina is there at 4, they could seriously regret giving up that pick. It's a really, really tough call for them.

At the end of the day, even if you finish last in the league, your chances of winning the lottery are still less than 25%, so I would probably keep the pick and pray.

Just shaking my head at the Ottawa situation.

On the draft, I think both players Hayton and Noel are solid picks at their number. In fact I wanted to trade up and grab Noel at 22 to be sure I got him. Even still I wad happy to take Hayton at 23.

One would guess they can't wait until the draft is underway. I'm guessing before it starts at some point. It would be interesting if they can flip it immediately when it's their turn forcing Colorado to make a pick.

Crazy, but don't they at least have to think about trying to move Duchene?

Yeah, so am I. I am not saying no way on it, but the price would have to be real good.
