Lol you are not getting Hamilton for Kevin Hayes unless Gorton is adding #9 and a whole lot more. They have plenty of defensive prospects they can trade. Fox/Andersson/Kylington/Valimaki are all good-to-very good prospects and I'm sure they are willing to part with one, if needed.

If that’s the ask, I say thank you and goodbye.

As I said before, love the prevailing view that Hayes is just a 3C. While he isn’t an elite player, he also played the role of shut down center and then transferred in latter quarter of the year to a scorer. But sure, offer TJ Brodie who Calgary would love to escort out of town or Adam Fox who likely won’t sign there.

Stop, JT is the lifeblood of your franchise. Not even Trotz can save you if he walks.
- JRR1285

If his price tag was serously $15M then I'd absolutely let him walk. He's not worth $15M. It won't ever be that much though.

I would imagine that it would be for a guy like Hamilton. I mean you're talking about an All-Star defenseman that scored as many points from the blueline as Hayes did from the pivot. It's not a knock on Hayes as much as it is a compliment to the kind of player Hamilton is.

Yup. Hopefully he gets a more defined role this year. Whether its a shut down center or a more offensive center, I don't care as long as he does well.

Don't forget he also is a very good PK'er Jan

No way he gets that. I hope.

I don't think he'll get the same contract McDavid got. I think he'll come in around $11M, give or take 500k.

You may be right. Hamilton is a lot to ask for straight up. Maybe it’s just Monaghan or Gaudreau? Or maybe by the weekend, we have both Tkachuk brothers!!

Hayes for Bennett. Just I can watch Bennett complete his bust status and not score.
