Underwhelming, but I don't believe you're offering fair interpretation.
Not a core piece could be a complimentary piece. Of course, he could be wrong. It could very well be a core.
Pick 11 in this draft is still a very good pick and a decent roster player could also be a complimentary player.
I don't read "spare parts" anywhere on there. Spare parts are AHL and 4th line throwins, imo - TheSabresTaco
I didn’t say “spare” parts
For me, a “part” is
-a player that u can get via FA (ie: “decent roster player”)
-a “b” prospect- they rarely turn out to be more than a depth player (those can be acquired for free as well)
So yeah, I’m being harsh calling pick11 a “part”
Bc you’re right, we would get a good prospect there
But like i said,
those guys are about 50/50 as to whether they make an impact
For me...
a 50/50 shot at an impact guy,
plus a couple depth guys,
is not nearly enough for O’Reilly
I know you’ve seen me say a BUNCH of times that I’m ok trading him for someone who will be a “core” guy for us |

I think a reasonable trade could be:
O'Reilly, McCabe and the SJ 2019 1st rd pick
for
Pachs, #3 OA
With #3 OA I take Tkachuk, not Zadina - turbo044
I’m not a Tkachuk guy
I’d rather have Wahlstrom even
Not that i hate Tkachuk...
but he’s not the “sniper” type that we need to ply with Jack
I think he will be a really good, 2way player who scores around 20 per year
But I’d rather go for the guy who has the ability to score 30+
Just my preference though |

I am genuinely curious if Eichel is working on his FO ability this summer, especially if he knows ROR will be gone. - TheSabresTaco
Why would he be?

There's no statistical proof that shows, over the course of a season, that the amount of FOs you win determines the amount of games you win. - TheSabresTaco
And yet it’s common sense that u actually try to win the faceoff

doubt it.
Why wasn't he working on it WITH ROR who is the best and on his teams for the past 3 years.
Missed opportunity. |

I added it thinking, "Beau is a Botts guy, Nelson isn't, maybe that's the second option"
I'm of the mind Guhle is a lock for this team. He brings more to the table than a healthy Bogo or a sober Bolo. Pilut can be stashed in the A to start and acclimate. Nelson and Beau are fighting it out for #7 to me. |

Really?
Can people stop this. Faceoff % is nearly a pointless stat.
95% of faceoffs don't mean a damn thing.

Yeah, I haven't done my normal draft research for the early 1st rd, 'cuz of the lottery result, but, obviously would trust BOTS judgment. I mean, there weren't many who "loved" the Mitts pick last year when it was made and he may end up being the #1 guy from the 2017 draft when all is said and done; certainly top 3 |
