Yes, many, many times. He always says vague poop about what goes on, but never actually says anything substantive.
- Wetbandit1

Hmmmm
Well anyways, i do think it’s obvious he’s been behind the scenes multiple times

I don’t really see him making specific claims,
so i guess i don’t take it as him having inside info like Homie & 89 get

If you don't think there's a player in the league without a concussion history you're crazy.

The last time Skinner had a head injury was years ago at this point.

I think there are reasons to not want him that are more than just "injury!".

- Wetbandit1

Ok, that’s all fair i guess
I can only worry about stuff i know that’s actually documented though
U know what i mean here sir

I’m not saying don’t get him bc I’m scared he’s gonna get another concussion
But anytime someone has that history,
even if it’s years ago,
it’s at least one of the things that go into consideration
Just like if a guy has had back issues in the past, or other serious injuries

I could see that

Someone like Larsson (etc) for a mid-late round pick certainly seems possible

Or other Fasching-like trades involving prospects that Botts doesn’t really like

Makes sense

Have u heard anything about us not qualifying him?

Not that Bobby Mac is usually wrong

I am kinda surprised we couldn’t trade him though
I’d almost rather keep him on a 1 year deal & see if he can get his game back
Then possibly trade him at the deadline

Hate to see him go for nothing

I could see him doing a Nilsson, after a bad season here goes overseas for a few years, does really well, comes back.

I’m kinda surprised there weren’t any trades today
I figured there’d be at least 1 or 2

Yeah,
I’ve been assuming that pick 3 would be a long shot
So I’ve actually been hoping for pick 7 from VAN, and we’d take Wahlstrom
Idk if he’d play right away like Zadina,
but he does have the size to possibly do so
I’m more than ok waiting a year or even 2 for him though
He could go to college, or the AHL even

- jdfitz77

Hes a Boston College commit but I see a one and done scenario with him just like Mittelstadt

Mrazek or Allen will probably be a throw in for the pending RoR trade

Someone is gonna sign him
My guess why we couldn’t trade him is bc no one wanted to pay him the 4mil + to qualify him
Signing him as a UFA,
they can get him cheaper
Makes it easier for a team like Philly or Car to take a chance on him with the other Goalies they’ve got signed

He does have the size to go to the AHL though
Or even straight to the NHL if he looks good enough in preseason

Yes

Brady Tkachuk as a member of the US under18 team LAST YEAR
25g-29a-54pts

*He’s a year ahead

Wahlstrom this year for U18 team
48g-46a-94pts

Wahlstrom has a better shot, and higher ceiling as a scorer
Plus he plays a physical game like Tkachuk as well

Also, while Tkachuk did look good at the WorldJrs, he didn’t excel in college by any means as was expected
But he does have the pedigree with his Family, and that definitely counts for something

I’m not saying Tkachuk is some scrub,
just that his name adds value
And that Wahlstrom really is that good

Feel free to let me know why u think Tkachuk is better if that’s what u think

There’s a reason some ppl having him dropping in the mocks though,
or think that he can drop tomorrow
Most don’t believe he has a high ceiling as far as goal scoring goes, or they at least question it a bit

- jdfitz77

It's late and I don't have the energy to even attempt to convince you.

My opinion is that no one here has seen enough of these guys to give more than a superficial judgement. I like what Tkachuck brings and it's sorely lacking on the Sabres, while Wahlstrom seems one dimensional to me. McKenzie's scouts have 12 guys included in their respective top 5's, so there's little consensus after 2. Tkachuck led that pack, but anything can happen tonight. I don't think his last name factors into the end result at all.

Mrazak is a guy i mentioned us getting last summer on the cheap to take a chance on
Really struggled again though, right?

Idk what happened to Allen?
I thought he was gonna be really good
There might not be a more up & down goalie in the whole league

Welp, we disagree again
Not surprised
I have legit reasons why i like Wahlstrom better
He has a better shot
Higher goal scoring ceiling
And better stats

It’s not like I’m saying something crazy

Interesting...
u think it’s about Sam then?

I’d trade him for #7 +
But i really like Wahlstrom
I can see why some wouldn’t like that though

That’s way too much imo

Sutter is a meh player
Idk that I’d even be happy with him + 7 for Sam
Let alone we have to add all that

There are some Philly & StL prospects that i like
And there will be some decent wingers available if we get one of Philly’s 1st rounders
