The draft pick we got with Kulikov gave us Asplund though. - JVince11
I'm still bitter he's gone. Buncha crap. Gets all the blame and little credit from only a few now that his prospects are starting to bud. |

My gawd....
I just realized we will be drafting a player who was born in year 2000.
Give him 00 as a number. - JVince11

So I tend to agree to trade Okposo, but when I look at this, I am not sure if there is as much of a point to trade him right now....
Okposo (76 games, 44 points, $6m cap)
Skinner (82 games, 49 points, $6m cap)
Elias Lindholm (a rumor about him and pick for O'Reilly today) (81 games, 44 points, $2.7M but is now RFA)
Pacioretty (64 games, 37 points, $4.5m cap with 1 year left)
Gallagher (82 games, 54 points, $3.75m cap)
Simmonds (75 games, 46 points, $3.975m cap)
So I guess the point is, we (most of us) want to trade O'Reilly for one of these guys, but we already have Okoposo, so maybe we should not rush to trade him after an "off" year of almost dying and concussion issues all summer.
Maybe? |

Trotz new coach of the Isles - Pegullaville
think Tavares would be interested in playing for a three-time Cup executive and Stanley Cup champion head coach?

Depends on their plan to add pieces around him, especially goaltending. |

Sources say Barry Trotz and the New York Islanders are closing in on an agreement for Trotz to be the Isles next head coach.

I'm hearing that Grubauer to Islanders is heating up. Trotz knows him well.
I did hear the other day they were willing to give one of their first rounders this year for his rights, seems very expensive.
They do still need to add to the defense though, IMO. |

So yes, it’s not official but it’s confirmed: Barry Trotz will be the next coach of the #Isles. Lots more to come.

Sounds like 5 years $4m per. Washington was offering $1.8m on his extension. |

Sounds like the rumor is Tavares is signing back with Islanders for 8 years ~$11.25m per.
Will find out soon.
As stated, if we were not going to get Tavares (very unlikely) then this is the best outcome and could drive ROR value before draft. |

How long before it becomes Dahlin's team instead of Eichel - mattmoulson
Jack is no slouch to be sure ...
But everything I heard and have read tells me that Dahlin will be the heart and sould of this team in a couple years time.
we could have a Gretzky / Messier - like combo with those two !!! GREAT to think about |

I heard 8 years 10.75M. But it looks like the Isles have a chance to resign JT. Buffalo probably hoping it’s by tonight also so they can get a haul for ROR tomorrow. |

Yea, you need to real that one in a bit.
The greatest to ever play and one of the best is a tall order that Eichel will never touch, IMO. |

Also, not a done deal, and still a fluid situation, but sounds like Isles may have good news on John Tavares as well.

Have to imagine that they are the leading suitors for Grubauer as well. |
