Pac would be mighty fine with Eichel though. He's historically always been one of the NHL's top 5 on 5 guys, something Buffalo is just dreadful at. I know he had a down year last year, but the centers he played with were atrocious. I wouldn't mind trading for him and extending him 4 years, $7m per. More than 4 years I wouldn't like.

I get your points about the 1 for 1 thing. But think about it.

Hypothetically (basically) if you trade McDavid for Dahlin, you're spending 22.5 million on two centers and you don't even have any top pairing defensemen.

I might be crazy for not be willing to take back McDavid for Dahlin 1 for 1. If the Sabres told me you must trade this pick, and Edmonton says theyd do it for McDavid (again, basically), I would do this:
