I feel like Hamilton is ripe for the picking. The 14th pick would be enticing. Of course it would cost more. But that 14th pick is definitely a conversation starter.

I'm not sure what's so 'safe' about him. He looks like a wildcard from every angle.

It's a bit funny that I think he's safer and has less upside than most other people who like to him too. I'm not entirely sure he CAN'T reach another level because he has a lot of tools and athleticism and some talent at his disposal. But all season watching him doesn't make me confident he's some future 50 point all-things PP stud either. I also think he's got above-average smarts and "move the puck" ability, but nothing exceptional like Sandin or someone.

It's a small sample but manual tracking was really kind to him. He also played with some good players like Stastney and Samuelsson too though. It checks out to me: he's really good with his gaps and breakups, good at possession changing plays in the DZ, pinching in OZ. He does a lot well for today's game. He needs to clean up some inconsistencies or techniques though, but it's nothing dramatic. He only switched to defense several years ago, but he's not some raw project. Noel is a raw project. He seems pretty easily projectable to me actually.
