They had 2 picks in the 1st round. I think Farabee is the "safe" pick and I like that they rolled the dice on a potential high ceiling guy like O'Brien.

I’ve read up on O’Brien. All I kept thinking about was the (frank)er was going to be drafted by baaaston and was going to be a thorn in our side and a 60 pt player for years. Now he’s our (frank)er. I’m ok with it

I am pretty happy. I trust their scouts, had read about the O'Brien kid. Amonte really likes him. He would know what an NHLer looks like

Hextall, Pryor and their team has earned the benefit of the doubt. I’m more than willing to give this kid a shot. I had him as a very high 2nd, 35th on my top 50, so it’s really not a huge reach.

I watch enough to trust myself too though. I had him at 28, I think, but it's more a matter of not having a good read. I liked what I saw a lot. Enough to be a little bold on him. That he was underrated is something I can definitely believe and do trust them on because I saw the smarts and ability. Was just surprised they didn't trade down maybe, but he's a good pick, not someone I dislike. I think Berggren has star potential though. O'Brien might be more a 2nd line C or RW, like Farabee. He checks every last Flyers box though.
